When the Atlantic Coast Conference also includes schools in Texas and along the Pacific Coast? Granted we have pushed further towards the Midwest with Notre Dame and Louisville, but our roots are still along the Atlantic Coast.
American Athletic Conference already exists. Maybe we go the Big Ten-Big Twelve route (with ACC-AAC) and try to confuse the rest of the nation with our collection of teams that aren't quite relevant - we could call it the American Collegiate Conference and keep the ACC badging, just a thought.
Bottom Line - Atlantic Coast Conference wouldn't seem appropriate any longer.

FWIW I hope we end up in the SEC. As bad as many of the fanbases are and the aura of entitlement, the money and maintaining our presence in the Southeast are more important to me. College Football should be mostly regional and not include constant travelling across the nation.
