What percentage of black US citizens are here due to their

ancestors being sold here into slavery?
Hard for me to eloquently articulate this without sounding racist, which is not at all my intent, but how many Africans currently immigrate to the US today?
In a weird way, are 21st century blacks living in America potentially "better off" due their ancestors being sold in to slavery than if slavery never happened and they were still potentially living in current day Africa? That doesn't at all excuse the horrors of slavery.
I don't know the answer to this because I don't know how many immigrants we've had from Africa over the past 100 years. And, I'm pretty dumb as to living conditions in Africa compared to the US. I always think of it as "poor", but I know that is also changing.
Feel like I'm about to get land-blasted as a racist for even suggesting that there may have been a benefit from slavery.

Another thing that is never mentioned is that the original slaves were not taken by force. They were bought from rival African tribes and Arabs. No one ever dares bringing up the fact that those folks profited from selling them.

I don't remember exactly where or when I heard it, but I'm pretty sure it was Thomas Sowell on the radio who said that African-Americans were the 13th wealthiest or most economocally well-off (don't remember the exact term) ethnic group in the world.

I watched a Thomas Sowell interview the other night on youtube. Had to skip a stupid a## commercial about systemic racism first. Probably bought with BLM shakedown money.

He's one of the few I've seen who pointed out that the only difference in slavery in the US compared to other countries is that it involved two different races. In most of world history the slaves and slave owners were of the same race.

Slavery was not unique to the U.S. by any means - it was accepted world wide until the 1800s, and beyond that in some parts of the world. Most races and cultures actively participated in slavery. I, personally am not responsible or accountable for any of it.

If they pass it, I'm filing for it, if nothing else than to make them prove I'm not.

when someone tells potential recipients that they will have to give blood samples and give the government full, unvetted use of their DNA. The African American community is already very doubtful about many vaccines, and healthcare practices, including the COVID vaccine, so I am wondering if the cash incentive will happen to change their mind.

Mean I will never have to hear about how much slavery has negatively impacted current generations? Because if it does, I am 100% in favor of it. Enjoy your cash, homies. Very excited for you to face reality on supposed equal footing.

It's creating a committee to study the issue.
A) There's no way direct payments to black people would pass even with reconciliation B) America has a very racist history even after slavery ended C) There are plenty of good programs that would benefit poor people which are disproportionately poc
