Riley came out of the Chad Morris system...outside the box and exploiting the weaknesses were his keys and we had that for quite a while until Chad left for SMU and Arkansas and beyond...both the TCU head coach and Riley learned that system from an SMU offense that was explosive and a winner! Poor Morris got stuck with two schools Arkansas and SMU that had major recruiting issues and Arkansas with an archaic AD! All the offensive genius of a generation of coaches came from CM and Riley will make Clemson shine again! RG3 has seen Cade in action and had to play against SMU! With a first rate offense we'll not have to depend on the D to keep us in games and we can again start to develop depth at all positions! Go CCC!

RG3 turned pro when Morris was still at Clemson. "The Chad" had a losing record at SMU and Arkansas. Riley is certainly not a product of Chad Morris in any shape or form. Lincoln & Garrett have their own philosophy and football IQ when it comes to Offense. That being said, I appreciate what Chad did for us at Clemson University. He clearly made a mistake by jumping ship too early and taking over programs that were awful. Riley understands game management as much as execution. With our D being stacked again it's a perfect scenario for Garrett to be successful. Go Tigers!!!

And both Lincoln & Garrett were learning that air raid offense straight from the horse that brought it to college FB, the Master of the air was Mike Leach, may he RIP!!!

I try not to get to high or low and rarely care what any of those talking heads think.
We have some really good pieces but still need a downfield threat. RB and the defense should be really good. Personally I was let down last season with the defense seeing what we had on the DL.
Just hoping to see improvement from last season.

I will be interested to see how the TNet Main Board responds to this. On the one hand, RGIII is predicting a great season for us, but on the other hand he points out that Dabo has made mistakes in the past. And we know criticism like that is typically frowned upon here.

Is Dabo a human being? Yes. Well then he makes mistake.
Pick a coach any coach - I guarantee there are things that didn’t work out for reasons, and any fan can say, “well I don’t agree and I think he made this mistake”, but that doesn’t mean Joe Fan is correct.
At the end of the day, who is ultimately responsible for the output? The coach. So you best believe he’s going to make decisions based on wisdom and experience. Has he done the best job of any coach in Clemson? Sure has.

The offense improved even with the clear broken wheel. So in your opinion, what didn’t u like about Streeter?
Goodwin is an NFL level brain. He was an asst to the head coach. He knows more about defense than a layman like u has no idea whatsoever. The defense was around 30th and did their part. We were in the playoffs up until the coot fluke. So what’s the deal? Is Goodwin Brent Venables? Obviously not, but who is?? The defense was very good accept for a young inexperienced secondary that was the glaring weakness of the defenses. Was that Goodwin’s fault? Come on man. Coach Reed has two national championship rings on his finger, did he forget how to coach, or was it secondary personnel? Please answer to the best of your ability.
Streeter is gone, mainly based off of DJ, and Goodwin is back as he should be.
Both the offense and defense will be better this season. We’re going to make the playoffs. Then what will u say? Oops? Think man , please.
Please do list out your tangible Dabo mistakes. Have u seen the dude’s resume? Name 3 better coaches in the game right now. You can’t dude, so try to see the forest thru the trees.

I definitely agree on Streeter. The jury still is out on Goodwin. Having zero offense makes it almost impossible for a defense to look it’s best.

His opinion is more noteworthy given his familiarity with Cade. And he's correct. The kid has " something " or " it". We saw it when he first took the field. The teams energy was palpable. He's a natural leader. We may not have a guy that can stretch the field. Cole Turner perhaps. Time will tell. That doesn't preclude us from being explosive and capable of an offense that ranks in the top 10. The use of the TE 'Stool will create matchup nightmares as will Shipleys improvements in the passing game.
If we go injury free at RB and QB we can make a run for the natty.

the "criminoles", "Notre lame", and the "dirt peckers" and have no so called upsets and the rest will take care of itself. Can and will the Tigers keep their foot on the gas? After the last 2 years of a less than desired offense the proof will be on the field if there is a considerable improvement. Talk is cheap. Spot the ball.

RG3 is my favorite announcer. He’s very knowledgeable and clever. He started out broadcasting the not so interesting games. I was watching one of those games and that’s where I saw him the 1st time and thought he was really good. Obviously he’s moved up pretty quickly and I’m not surprised.

OCs and DCs that jump to head coaching have definitely been hit or miss. Some head coaches are truly successful only bc of a great coordinator. Tommy Bowden comes to mind….he had Rich Rod at Tulane and early on at Clemson. Leach is credited with the air raid but Rich Rod was the innovator of the “hurry up” offense. I was at our opening game against Mizzou when we absolutely trounced them. Mizzou’s head coach lost his mind early on in that game…..he was running on the field screaming at the officials the whole first half and the officials were just shrugging their shoulders like, “I cant help you, man, it’s not illegal”. Unlike Morris, Rich Road was highly successful at WV, but a failure at Michigan……Charlie Strong also comes to mind….highly successful at Louisville but the crapped his bed at Texas or wherever he went.

I am excited about the season not because of Cade, but because I think our offensive line and wide receivers will be much better. Do not lose sight of the fact that last year DJ completed 62% pf his passes and Cade completed 61% so there was no difference. We were restricted because we did not block well enough and could not run by defenders.
