What happened to the offense?

I get we didn’t play great teams but we did the same the previous few years and couldn’t score. This year we blew those teams out. Why has the offense gone stagnant?

We have bad position coaching that doesn't teach the fundamentals

We have a head coach that meddles in playcalling too much

We have a head coach that really loves to run trick plays that look like they drew them up in the dirt 2 seconds ago and have a higher chance of resulting in a pick-6 than positive yardage.

We have an offensive coordinator who's offense got absolutely destroyed by any good defense yet we still hired him.

We don't have a generational quarterback this year

Cade's issues always been mental. When he loses his confidence he becomes a different (much worse) player. Happened last year, and ruined the offense for the year. He gained his confidence back during that stretch after the UGA game, but lost it all during the Louisville game. Now we're back to the same old Cade as last year where he can't do the basics because he's a head case.

The coaches seem to have adjusted the offense to fit CK2’svstrengths and limitations.

Thus, the rarity of deep routes.

When Wesco kept running a deep route on that play where CK2 threw it far behind him, it was obvious from the coaches’ talking-to of Wesco that Wesco was supposed to break off the route into a back-shoulder route.

We must keep in mind that Wesco is a true FR, and that route running mistakes are part of the deal.

CK2’s limitations in deep routes were evident on the TD pass to C.Turner.

CK2 doesn’t have enough MPH on his fastball to be able to throw that trajectory at the time when he releases the ball to keep it from being underthrown. Cole Turner had smokedbhisvdefender by ~ 8 yards. The slow arrival of the pass made it a contested catch for Turner.

Because teams with any kind of pulse on Defense has figured out that all you have to do is bring a little heat Cades way, and he will panic. You don’t even have to sack him….the pressure alone will cause him to make a stupid decision every single time
