Sadly, they won’t lose any. They do not care about the long term givers. Our 38 years ended in 2021. They want big $$$ now, not long term giving.

Hey now. All that big money just brought home a gator bowl victory and a cheez-it bowl victory the previous season.
Plus it helps to pay Browney B.

Well, I know the FB team has the 5th highest paid staff of assistants and the highest paid HC in the country. Toss in all the facilities that have been built or upgraded and your talking huge money. My family chose to drop out after roughly 40 years when the seat equity tax was initiated. Could not justify the spend based on the very low quality of many of the opponents for the FB games. Were escalating prices to maintain current seating and parking status the reason for dropping out or was it something else? FWIW I still have easy access to tickets for most of the games but I don't have a solution for the parking issue other than paying $100+ to park. Just skip most of games due to the parking hassle.

when we lost our tickets(got them for many years from a wealthy releative), but I have to admit, I got used to grilling on the deck and going to my bonus room Mrs. Spud redid for me....I go to one or two a year now, and with this dadgum arthritis in my spine...that is about all I can take. Clemson has sold out to the corporate group I think. I wonder how that model will work during a long losing spell...Old Clemson Fan sat through the 2-9 years and went to every game. Corporate Fan.....I don't think so. JMHO!

I hear you, Spud. I hope it never happens, but it would be interesting to see what a couple of 6-6 seasons would do to attendance. Perish the thought.

I have been an IPTAY contributor for awhile now. I bought season tickets also. I had seats in the upper section and was diagnosed with asthma during that time. I asked if I could get lower tickets because of this diagnosis. Did not want front row but anything lower. I know they hear very excuse imaginable but I thought I would at least get a response. Nope. I no longer get season tickets.

It’s sad. The slick suits in IPTAY want the big money right now. Loyalty is for chumps. It’s certainly isn’t like it used to be, like a lot of things.
But when things go south after Dabo leaves/retires and all the slick suits in IPTAY jump ship, we are not coming back. They’ve made their bed.

My final straw was the game at ND

I was an Iptay donor for close to 30 years. Didn't live close so never requested season tickets, just gave money to support my Tigers. Let them keep my contribution in 2020. But then I tried for the first time to request away game tickets. ND game in November 2022. For some reason IPTAY decided only season ticketholders could request those tickets. Now I would be totally fine with not getting tickets because my priority points weren't high enough (and I know Clemson didn't get many tickets), but it was a total slap in the face that only season ticketholders could even make the request. IPTAY only cares about season ticketholders? Ok then. I'm out. I'll be saving a lot of money not donating and simply buying great seats for the occasional game I can attend.

You can buy better/cheaper tickets on the secondary market than through IPTAY.

Gave up after 39 years. Final straw was being moved out of my seats for the west end zone club. Moved us behind the opposing band’s tubas. We could even see the field.

and continuing to increase ticket costs to see a team that has underperformed three years in a row, only to be lectured by said coach about fans who don’t behave the way he wants them to.

Unfortunately you can't have it both ways. You want to win it cost money. If someone is willing to pay more than you then out you go. If they showed loyalty to every donor the athletic department would go broke. I understand the hurt feelings but winning is not cheap.

Evidently, losing is pretty expensive as well. And the bloated and expensive football staff makes the US government look like a lean efficient organization by comparison.

I ended my familys IPTAY membership after the 2016 season....

My folks started IPTAY in 1980. We had upwards of 6 seasons tickets for a couple of years but then slowly dwindle back down to 2 because my parents due to age and health reasons stop going to the games. I took over the membership for many years until I decided to it was becoming little too expensive. When I let IPTAY know that I was ending our membership after 36 years I didn’t get a Thank you or we will miss you or anything. Oh well. That was a difficult decision to end it. There’s so many memories at Death Valley with my folks, myself, my brother, friends, and exes that sit in those seats with us even during the “bad” seasons. Great times!

Is there an increase this year in the number of folks dropping out or just the normal turnover? I had a 20 year donor tell me yesterday that he is done. His spend would be close to 9K this year for 6 seats and the parking pass. He normally sells 4 and the pass and keeps 2. Said that formula no longer works. Since he owns a parking spot off site he said he will just purchase tickets to the games he wants to see (which is only a couple per year) and will come out much cheaper. He felt there were corporate entities or individuals with money to more than fill the gap.

I love these stories.
“If I can’t work the system to my benefit, screw IPTAY…all they want is money. “
“I don’t consider it important to provide scholarships for Clemson athletes. It’s too expensive to do that just for football tickets so I’ll quit IPTAY and just buy tickets elsewhere.”
Good riddance. Somebody will get a seat upgrade.
