NOTHING..they might as well state their gd elementary school. It is a practice in place to help promote the league by familiarizing the casual fan/viewers who don't otherwise know where most played college ball but that was a tall task and too much to ask..hell it's hard enough to gettem to stand for the anthem, you can't expect them to remember where they did any undergraduate work when they prolly never cracked a book or attended class..come on givem a break jeesh..

I know DJU will never start an NFL game.
But it would be interesting to hear what college he played for.

He sure didn’t turn down the 4 yrs of schooling and 3 free meals a day while he was Clemson. Maybe his h.s. paid better?

is still severely understating the lifestyle afforded to a p4 football player on scholarship currently and prior to NIL before the 4k stipend...they (a p4 player) could/can go to pretty much anywhere in the town where their respective school resides and will get comped everything and anything short of a vehicle or a house and I'm not talking just dudes on the 2 deep

For a while the NFL had to cease these individual announcements because the players were making a complete joke out of it by making fools of themselves. I see they have returned to the practice.

I didn't see it but his high school football team won the state championship this year. Maybe he felt they deserved a shout out on national tv.

If memory serves, DJ has always said Grimsley High School. He still does a lot here in the local community, his foundation, A Son Never Forgets, is a sponsor of Whirlie Football and other sports. DJ loves Clemson, he also loves Grimsley and Greensboro and wants them to get some love too. When he gets talked about during a game, the announcers day Clemson University, not Grimsley High School.

have played for 3-4 schools. I think this "free agency" will be an eventual detriment to both the college game and the pros.
