the NCAA Tournament this year. But, it seems there HAVE been at least a couple of bracketproctologists who have us on the outside looking in, since our embarrassing loss to BC gave us another One and Done in the ACC Tourney. My question is this:
Our record is what it is now, no chance for improvement before bids go out. Others are still playing and fattening their resumes. What will be your stance on the future employment of Brad Brownell if the unthinkable happens, and our name is NOT called on Sunday? No poo-pooing saying it CAN'T happen, I am asking "What does Clemson do if we DO get left out of the NCAA Tournament with 20 wins for the 2nd year in a row?"
My answer is well known. I would fire Brad Brownell before bids even go out. But, even the Scok Army should re-evaluate if we get left out again. Because, that would be as clear a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in a coach as could ever be had. Brownell took a team which was a LOCK at the 3/4 point of the season, through no help from him, and turned it into one that has at least some of the prognosticating community thinking we miss out once again. And, each positive performance by another team still building their resume just makes that turd we laid against BC smell that much worse.
We WILL probably get into the Dance, do our usual One and Done, take our Participation Trophy, and crawl back home with our tails between our legs. But, Brownell lovers better be prepared for Armageddon if somehow those bracket pickers that left us out somehow turn out to be right.

Going to the NCAAT and going one and done, is nothing to crow about. Especially if you rarely even make it in.

Lunardi has us as the #8 seed matched up against the #9 seed Oklahoma....in theory, that's a winnable game for us. But, we all know what probably will happen.

I haven't seen a single projections that has us on the outside looking in (although Clemson is playing like they should be)
As of late last night Bracket Matrix, a composite of all the bracket projections had us as a 6 seed. This was an average of like 50 or more (?) projections.
There were still some brackets that Clemson as 5, a fee brackets as low as an 8 but mostly 6s and 7s.

Bracket Matrix tracks 124 bracket predictions. We were in the field in all 124 brackets tracked through 03/16, with an average seeding of 6.61 - the last of the 6 seeds. The range was as high as 5 and as low as 9.
Today’s update will be interesting. I expect the 8 seed to be the consensus opinion, though NC State’s tournament run actually knocked a Quad 3 loss off our final resume.
Being left out of the tournament was never as close as some on here made it seem. Just as getting in the tournament last year was never as close as some on here made it seem.

And rightfully so. Other teams have been playing lights out while Clemson collapsed like an accordion. Committee wants competitive teams that want to play vs teams with “look who we beat back in December”. No one cares. We al know that early in the year lots of teams are still trying to figure it out and we just happened to catch them in this state of flux. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.

We ARE safely in. We are not a play-in team. We will be an 8 seed. Do we deserve all that? Not based on recent performance, but we do have the talent to win a couple of games.

Perhaps AD in charge of Basketball or something ... Represents the School well but really, he is not a Killer Coach. His Strategery is might his biggest asset. Really don't care for Neff. Way too young for his position and has the video game mentality. Refuses to accept the fact, "if you got a dic, you ain't no chick". Even with removal, genes don't lie.

We are playing like complete trash down the stretch, but there's zero chance Clemson falls all the way to an 11 seed. None.

For me, this isn’t personal like the “hate” crowd want to couch it. One Top 35 Final AP poll ranking in 14 seasons justifies a change of direction.

I’ve gotta say, I can’t imagine the committee not laughing at “same old Clemson”. We may have played our way out. But regardless of whether we are in, my answer on Brad is “It is time to move on.” We have just endured our 10th annual old-school painful colonoscopy (basketball season) and celebrate another year of endless internal vitriol over “fire him or keep him?” It makes it impossible to enjoy the season.
