So Ruke is supposedly coming back.

That's huge for the Tigers. There was a chance he would have just wanted to go pro. I think this next year will do wonders for his draft stock.

He needs to come back. At best he’s prob a 5th rounder. Realistically Ruke, Thomas, and with all the time he missed Bresee should all consider coming back.

We were in 3 down with that alignment

I do think there is a chance he comes back, but he is a DT. He'll base his decision on evaluations. I still think Thomas and Mascoll return as well.
With this incoming class, we are loaded regardless on the defensive front. And we've basically forgotten about guys like Denhoff, Patterson, Capehart and Story who were all highly recruited just buried on the depth chart. 2-3 freshmen likely don't redshirt; Woods, Burley, Parker.
Ruke returning is huge. Even if Bresee does move on, we"re looking at Ruke, Page, Williams, Capehart, Story, Woods and Bailey inside. I'll take that

Agreed. We might take a step back. Losing Henry is brutal. I think Bresee is gone (he's still expected in the top 15 in every draft board I've seen). But for obvious reasons, we didn't get much production out of him this year. I don't think losing Murphy is that big of a deal since he seemed to buy into his own hype and play undisciplined this year. Henry and Simpson are terrible blows, but I think we have enough talent behind them if your list returns that we could still have a top 10 defensive line.

Not concerned about the interior - we’d be fine

There even if Ruke and Bresee left. A FR or 2 would provide depth and some rotation behind guys like Page, Williams, Capehart and perhaps Ruben E. Don’t get me wrong - would love Ruke and Bresee to come back as would put less pressure on depth but also may force o e of those other guys to the portal which is not ideal. More concerned about DE - don’t think Swint is a significant contributor type and the fact he has stayed ahead of Denhoff and Patterson scares me. Don’t want to be depending on TR FR at that spot so a serviceable Mascoll and a healthy XT would be a huge boost. I do thinks we could use guys like Bresee and Ruke on the edge sone given our DT depth so that may have to be an option at DE
