Exactly. And it makes sense. SOS and all those other metrics should only be used as tiebreakers when W/L record is the same.
Is 11-2. Bama, us and a lot of other teams have 3 losses and should be ranked behind them. In every other sport standing, W/L record is the first and most important consideration.

It's the better path. No cold weather and playing Texas who has best wins over Vandy and A&M. Folks Clemson could get to the final 4. The CFB world can't handle that!🤣🤣🤣

Boise State would not be an easy game. We have a very favorable path to get to the championship game. We match up better with Texas than most of the other quarter final teams, the we would get Arizona State who is beatable. Not saying we will take care of business as I would like, but if you told me we don’t get a bye as a 3 loss team and let me set the bracket as I wanted, that’s the path I would choose.

A conference championship head-to-head is not simply a regular head-to-head. It's a champion vs non-champion head-to-head. There should be more importantance on that type of victory than one in the regular season.

The committee says exactly the opposite. They have said they are not going to penalize teams for a loss in a conference championship game.

Again the rule is if you are a conference champion and not ranked in top 12 you automatically get 12 seed. Clemson is ranked 16th in the rankings

It's the highest ranked 4 conference champs. Doesn't matter where they are ranked. They could be 8 12 14 18 23. 23 gets 12 the others get the 4 byes

That is not a rule. If the top 3 conference champions were ranked in the top 12, and the 4th highest ranked conference champion was ranked 13, that team would get the 4th seed and a bye. The 4 highest ranked conference champions get the first 4 seeds and a bye. That is the rule. In that case, if the 5th highest ranked conference champion was ranked 14, they would likely be seeded higher than 12. There is no rule that said we had to be the 12 seed. We could very easily have been seeded 11 and SMU seeded 12.
