We should hire Simmons as our OC

Aug 27, 2022, 10:56 PM

I am not sure FAMU's offense isn't better than ours.

That kid can make the throws and the decisions. I'm totally impressed. Too bad they got too greedy right b4 half with 40 seconds left. It'd be 28-24 right now.

You have to get greedy when playing over your head. You know you will get ground by the depth and have to take chances.

Lol. Let’s give Streeter a few games before we start looking forward OC

Hopefully, we won't be thinking about who we might get, because the one we have is doing such a great job.

Our current OC has only been in role for one game

Slow your roll champ.

You haven't been watching old games INCLUDING Iowa State

Aug 27, 2022, 11:39 PM

Have you?

But I get what you're saying. I really hope Streeter can straighten it out. He was good at Richmond.

You mean the one with the knee brace, the fractured finger, and the extra 30 pounds? That old film?

And Swinney boy starting at WR

Why did we have a tough time on offense last year?

Aug 28, 2022, 5:28 PM [ in reply to You haven't been watching old games INCLUDING Iowa State ]

Was it because of Brandon Streeter or a dysfunctional QB.

Some of you folks are just planning ig'nant.

Due West has more excuses than that

Aug 28, 2022, 5:31 PM

You underestimate him/her/they.

I believe poster was actually calling YOU ignorant, not me.

Aug 28, 2022, 11:46 PM

But at any rate, sure I look for the bright side of things. You should try it sometime.

After all ...

I’m not the one pre-judging Brando Streeter based on old Tony Elliott film and Streeter’s one game as OC with a gimpy QB.

That would be you.

Overreactive post of the day. Since you have not seen our offense this year how could you possibly make an assessment? Seems your glass is mostly empty based on your imagination

Good grief! The Tigers haven't played a down yet and it has already started. Do you not think Dabo would have dipped into that well last December if he wasn't confident in what he has? Dabo didn't hesitate to go get Eason.

Arguably the biggest idiot / most disliked poster on TNET for years running.

You ought to be proud.

Wondering what is your reference point for comparison given we have not taken a single offensive snap this year?

Re: We should hire Simmons as our OC

My preference would been a hard push for Lebby but timeline (Elliott departure/Lebby named OU OC-dates)relegated that to an impossibility-

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let's actually see how Streeter does 1st before calling for

Aug 28, 2022, 10:59 AM

A change in coordinators. That said, Simmons is definitely building up a nice resume & should be a star on the rise if he's not considered so now.

In 6 years as a HC, he's yet to have a losing season. At FAMU, he's restored a proud program to prominence on the field after they hit a pretty low point in the 2010s. Off-field, gonna be some things that need shining up (the stuff that happened in lead up to UNC game comes couple years after they served a postseason ban that probably prevented them from being HBCU national champs), but it won't surprise if we see Willie Simmons get a look at some FBS jobs (either as coordinator or head coach) sooner rather than later.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course we do need to give Streeter a chance

Aug 28, 2022, 5:50 PM

And it's unfair to judge too much from Iowa State. But we were really really bad last year.

Injuries or not, ranked at the near bottom should be cause for concern.

My only worry is that Street was on the staff that underperformed. Wes was on a successful staff so that's different.

Streeter was also the QB coach so there's that.

Re: Of course we do need to give Streeter a chance

Can't call the jury in yet. We will soon see but there is every reason to believe Streeter was nit the problem last year. If last years problems do, somehow, were the product of Streeter being a poor coach we will soon know.
