Im going to list a few reasons why I think Clemson get the win over Georgia. If this wasn’t the first game of the season I’d pick Georgia. But this game a Trap for Georgia and here’s why!
1. First game of season you never know how a team will look the first game. I don’t care how good a team is and who’s coming back. Every team is prone to mistakes in Game one. Clemson just has to make less mistakes the Georgia and turn those mistakes into points.
2. Doubt in Dabo fans don’t have doubt in Dabo we still believe in Dabo. But there is a perception that Dabo can’t get it done no more. He doesn’t use the transfer portal and Clemson is steadily declining from what they were. Dabo hears this and would love to prove Clemson is back on the rise and Dabos way can still get it done. Statement Game for Dabo!
3. Defense is going to get stops against Georgia. Clemson defense should be elite.
4. QB play I expect Cade to be better. Better decision making. Also bigger and stronger more effective running the ball and passing the ball. I expect Cape to take that important step forward.
5. Running game and OL play. I expect the offensive line to be better. And likely open up holes for Mafah. 1500yd season incoming for Mafah which in return will help Cade click.
6. Passing game Moore and Wesco should I say more. I think you add those two guys into a stable of who’s coming back as well as turner. This passing game will be transformed into one that may shock a lot of teams. Expect Moore and Wesco to do well on yards after catch. Catching those short passes on the outside. Georgia won’t know what is coming. Improved passing game equals an improved Cade!

they need to execute very well.
Those first games are tough for both teams. I see you what you are saying, but keep in mind Clemson has those same 1st game issues that are very possible so that evens out.
Clemson needs to play great football and start quickly, stay focused for 4 quarters or more if needed.

Well, hopefully Garret Riley learned something when he played Georgia to a 65-7 loss in the National Title game.
Having 3 deep 4-5 stars at every position usually overcomes quite a few mistakes.

Garrett's job last season after our dismal 4 game start left Garrett with concentrating on one most important thing throughout the season, and that was getting all the ground work finalized in his offense with knowing even if he only has the injuries in the WR room healed and ready to perform with his offense this coming season. This fall camp we be with him putting his top tools in place and turning them loose allowing them to take on the Garret offense with a full steam ahead mine set. I think we see the Garrett offense on display in game one, win or lose, his play book will be opened full force through the season. So we can afford to lose game if it has to, but that will be the only loss of this coming season. If Garrett's offense doesn't work for us this season, maybe Dabo will have to change it with a simpler working offense bc, he will have to keep a winning program to keep the talent that we get coming in, and winning will do that without huge NIL money...

You think game 1 of the season is a "trap game" for Georgia? You think Kirby will have his team too focused on the week 2 opponent (Tennessee Tech) and overlook Clemson?
The fans' doubt (or the lack thereof) of Dabo will have exactly zero outcome on the game.
Aren't Wesco and Moore true freshmen? They may be studs but counting on them to carry some huge load against UGA may be a bit of wishful thinking.

This being the first game of the season, I am extremely confident that Kirby and Georgia will be extremely focused.
Clemson could win the game, but it will not be because Georgia is not focused.

This will by far be the toughest opening defense UGA has faced since facing Clemson the last time in the opening game. I fully expect a similar game where turnovers are the difference. I do think Clemson's experience facing a tough Duke defense last year out of the gate helps them here and I also think Clemson's WR room is deeper and better than UGA's. I also think losing Bowers is MASSIVE. That dude was a once in a generation player and while Delp is good, he's no Bowers. Briningstool is probably the best TE in that game. McConkey was UGA's Hunter Renfrow and we saw that impact on Clemson after he graduated.

Agree with most of that WisenTiger® with the exception of Duke comments. Duke was 4-4 in the ACC and lost to UVA. A very marginal team. Clemson coaches and players were sound asleep and unprepared vs. Duke last season. They'll be awake and ready on 8/31.

Agree asleep but Duke defense was 16 in the country in scoring defense @ 19 ppg and 10th in red zone D (both better than us). Elko is a legit defensive mind.

Key is for Cade to just manage the game, not try to be Johnny Manziel. Let Mafah work his magic, hit Brinny as a safety valve, and so many options with our WR personnel now to make plays. Riley has his system in place with a full off season.
I wouldn’t trade our defensive staff or personnel for UGA’s as a whole. The TE they lost as well as wr like McConkey were the go to playmakers on offense. I don’t expect guys worse than them to emerge as impact players and overcome our defense, but I’ll eat crow if they do. Lord knows they have prospects (at least ones not in the slammer).

Dude/lady...we get manhandled...hopefully we stay within 20...thats the hope...hopefully we can show some promise on some some fronts...but we get beat bad...i just hope it isnt like the Bama game back in Sabans 2nd year...lets just hope to not be embarrassed physically, athletically and score wise!!!
We have dropped several notches and they have risen several notches...im just hoping we do better than Oregon did a few years ago!!! Its gonna get ugly my friend...be prepared!!!

This game reflects a flip of that ###### IMO. UGA is coming in as big favorites with sights of a special season ahead while we are kind of in the upstart territory - us and Bama in reverse. I see this game potentially playing out that way as well. We have the talent. Will we get the leadership from them when it matters is the unknown.

I think we are in for another 10-3 game but Clemson is on the right side of this one. A lot of newcomers on that UGlAy offense and our D is elite. I don't see a game where either team scores close to 30. Old school defense game.

Have you had your head in the sand for the last decade? The defense reloads every single year, regardless who we lost the year before and who we have returning. That Kentucky game is an outlier with a lot of young guys being thrown into starting or high rotation snaps. We have outlier games every single year; that was one of them. On top of that, the offense absolutely has not done them any favors the last 3 years. Do I expect them to be the #1 defense in the country? No. But they'll be a top 10 unit as usual.

I'd say we did pretty well against Georgia the last time we played them and they won the National Title. Held them to 3 points defensively. Held that Drake Maye, North Carolina team to 20 points last season, which is very good in modern football. Held a solid Georgia Tech offense to 21 points. Notre Dame to 23 points. And FSU (fully healthy and everyone on their team unlike what UGA faced) to 24 points defensively. All in modern football where teams score 35+ near weekly, that's pretty good.
Expecting to hold every top offense in the country to 10 points or less every week in football isn't going to happen. Modern CFB rules and schemes also favor offenses to score more as well. It isn't 1972 anymore.

The most hyped Ga offense in the last few years is going to stall versus a Clemson defense that gave up 35 pts to Kentucky…… not buying it.

That would be nice since I’m going to the game with two Georgia fans. Unfortunately, George is better than us on offense at pretty much every position. Defenses are probably equivalent, slight edge to Clemson. Also, our special teams were a mess last year, if that’s not straightened up, we’re gonna get blown out. Stranger Things have happened, but I’m not getting my hopes up. I just hope Clemson plays tough, makes us proud and if we win ,..that would be awesome.
