If Clemson loses to Notre Dame or FSU, but wins

our bowl game, will we have a shot at the playoffs? Even if we don't make the ACCCG, it would be hard to keep out a 13-1 team.
CORRECTION: 12-1.

We have more talent that ND and FSU and we're at home.

I saw where they recruited a QB that ND, the less talented team, threw away.

You add something shiny like a Tire Bowl trophy to our resume, and I'd have to think that basically locks it up.

I think since ND and FSU would play in the ACCcg one of those would go before us

Notre dame doesn't have a conference in football . Therfore they would not be eligible to play in the acc championship

Notre Dame isn't eligible for the ACC CG

ND, if they beat us and go 12-0 or 11-1, would likely get in ahead of us. I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be 3 teams from the Pac 12, Big 10, SEC, and Big 12 with a better resume. This may actually be the worst question I've ever seen posted on here.

A ACC team in the playoffs must be undefeated.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls The above link shows the results of all the 2014 bowls. You will note that Alabama, Ohio St., Oregon, and FSU only played in the semi-final bowl games and the final. If any of those teams were eligible to go to a bowl, don't you think they would have gotten an invitation? Maybe they wanted to rest to make sure they were 100% for the playoffs because they all were so sure they were in. Since tOSU was the big surprise getting picked over both Baylor and TCU, how would they know that?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Football_Playoff This link is for Wikepedia's description of the college football playoffs. You will note the discussion of the selection committee also selecting participants in other key bowls from teams not in the playoffs, which means that the playoffs have to come first.

Seriously???????

First, the playoff teams will be set before any bowl games. Second, if we lose to either FSU or Notre Dame at home, it's highly unlikely that we make it in the playoffs. Third, the only way we can get to 13-1 is to play in the ACC CG and a bowl game.
Lastly, let's say that somehow, we lose Watson and a dozen other key players for one game because of food poisoning. The loss is against GaT and we avenge it by curb stomping the bees in the championship game. Then, we might make the playoffs depending on how other conferences fare.
If we make it to 13-1 and are still eligible for the championship, we're 100% because that would mean that we already won the first round of the playoffs.

If our only loss is to the Colts, this scenario is possible.

Bowl game then playoff? Not how it works but based on oh st last year if we lost just one to either a top ten nd or fsu team close and went on to win the acc I don't think we get left out...we woukd have a very good argument especially after last year and the big 10 schedule.
