Watching TV is complicated

This streaming service has this but not that. So many to choose from. The good old days of simple affordable cable are gone. 4 remotes and the spinning wheel.
There are so many people under 30 who don't even own a TV. The world is changing very quickly. Trying to help my aging parents through this has been a challenge.
Especially when I struggle to figure it out. Watching Clemson sports motivates me to figure it out.

...that you will now pay more than cable to watch everything you used to. Just look at how many NFL games are showing up on "exclusive" broadcasts (Prime, Apple+, Netflix, etc). My wife and I face the same struggles with our elderly mothers on a weekly basis. They just can't grasp how to navigate the whole streaming thingy.

Or maybe an “old fashioned “ cable service is now very economical compared to streaming. Better quality picture as well.

You speak the truth, brother. My elderly mother can still find her four or five favorite channels on cable ($250 a month) and still DVR's shows. I have moved to streaming and my daughter and I have around four or five subscriptions plus the high-speed internet from the old cable company (and we still don't get everything that we sometimes would like to watch.)
I am afraid technology isn't for the old and weak. It's a Brave New World out there. And I like the Old World Order.

Why can't any streaming service figure out how to assign channel numbers? It blows my mind - I have to scroll through pages of channels to find the one I'm looking for instead of typing "206" for ESPN.

a black and white TV, you walked to the set to change the channel, and there were only 4-5 channels to choose from!!
