If any pension plan is heavily invested in Tesla stock, the trustees should be replaced. Pension funds don’t invest heavily in volatile stock, you raging dumb*ss. They are operated much like income producing mutual funds. Look up what that means.

The morons don’t know how to do real research. They google and take the first BS they see. Then, if the collective morons post the same BS, they think it MUST be true. Unlike like the uneducated, sh*t-eating Trumper idiots, I actually read the Minnesota State Retirement System annual report for 2023. 33% in US equities, including an assortment of mutual funds.. A few percent invested in the big tech stocks, 1.9%(404 million, largest single holding) in aapl, 0.49% (108 million) in Tesla. Tesla increased since 2023, but that doesn’t mean the proportion increased the same, because the managers sell fast risers to lock in profit. Listen and learn, dummies.

That’s less than 1%. I have a higher percentage of Tesla than that and certainly don’t call that “heavily invested.” An S&P 500 fund also has more TSLA than that (1.4%).
Most people aren’t following what was going on. A court ruled that Elon shouldn’t receive the 56 billion bonus that he basically structured and forced the board to agree with based on market cap and sales. He’s been fighting that and brought it up again after the runup in Dec/Jan, using the big increase in cap to justify it. He made a bet that spending 300 million to buy Trump was going to drive up TSLA and eventually pay him back that 56 billion. In this case, it’s better for tesla as a company to be fairly valued rather than inflated by at least three times (at today’s price).

Another thing is Elon’s debt. He borrowed heavily against Tesla to buy Twitter. Now Twitter is worth a fraction of what he paid and if TSLA drops too much, the debt gets called in and he may have to sell some and drive the price down more. That’s a warning from Tesla. He’s got a plan to die broke like Tesla, but it’s only fun for him if he falls from the highest peak. These incels and what motivates them, I will never understand.

and heard that the margin call is at 130, meaning Tesla falls below that, he's toast. I know we can do it, will be the biggest financial fall from grace in human history, even though it was never real to begin with. The sad part is all of the TESLA fans boys that bought the hype and were caught holding the bag.

I don't see how it turns around. The man is now the most disliked in the world, fairly or not. Even if they oust him or he leaves on his own, the financials have peaked and will continue to decline unless something miraculous happens. Like maybe the stupid personal robot is a huge success. I can see Kanye West buying that robot, but literally nobody else.

Not since Public sector unions were promised benefits taxpayers could not fund. You may want to read up on unfunded pensions across States, they are all chasing higher returns to stave off having to say we are unable to pay.

If they have been in long enough they have made money and can sell now. No way is that one stock going to take the pensions down. If they are heavily invested in Tesla, someone should be fired. I guarantee they are very diversified.

When you have that many shares, you don’t just sit on them. You sell calls to generate income, then naturally some shares may get sold if the calls are executed as the price goes up. And when the price goes up a lot, the fund should sell more to stay diversified. They likely made a nice profit selling in January if the managers are worth anything. I tried to post that Minnesota’s investment is less than 1% of their total, which is not “heavily invested.” If you have a S&P 500 fund, it has more TSLA than that.

It's fine to have colossal political disagreements, but being happy over the financial downturn of an American owned company with American employees that produces an EV, which only recently had libs climaxing over, is weird.
While the MN state pension plan hopefully is not invested heavily in any one stock, more than a few blue collar Tesla employees may be hurt by the downturn in Tesla stock.
I guess Tim is like his old lady who got off huffing the smoke outside their home during the rioting over the George Floyd murder.
Maybe Tim has some Chinese EV stock himself, although he wears it as a badge of honor to have accrued very little in the way of wealth.
Weird.

That's no different than the clowns celebrating tariffs and possible recession for some idiotic dream of long term benefit. The MAGA support of the tariffs is far more despicable than what Waltz did.
Let's throw in the sudden job cuts as well that were unjustified and their celebration over that.
I don't want anyone to suffer other than Elon, who deserves every ounce of ruin that comes his way.

Blanket tariffs are dumb as are indiscriminate firings of federal workers.
The medical mantra of "First do no harm," has seemingly been replaced with "Let's tear everything down and start over regardless of the consequences."
The Elon/Trump approach is not smart short or long term, but I stand by my opinion that Tim Walz is weird and a lightweight intellectually.

Some folks like DOGE (for trying to find wasteful government spending); some don't (mostly don't like the method)...but laughing at folks while you lay them off is relatively uncool. I actually think that is the main reason folks have turned on him.

It's wild how you would make such a statement. I want my country to do well and likewise want American companies to do well.
I'm not an Elon Musk fan.I do not like his methods of reducing government spending in a very haphazard fashion or being front and center in this Administration. I didn't vote for Trump nor Harris. I think Tim Walz was a far inferior pick than say Josh Shapiro for VP.
Tim pulling for Tesla stock to crater because of his dislike of Musk certainly isn't fighting for America or American workers and I think Elon is well equipped to take the hit.
If Tesla goes completely belly up, Elon Musk will still have more than a few dollars to get by, but a lot of regular Joes would be hurt.
You do you, pull for Tesla stock to tank.

I can't help your lack of ability to comprehend that I along with many others on this site made a choice to either not vote or vote third party rather than vote for Trump or Harris. I voted Libertarian.
I am a conservative, generally GOP voter and have never voted for a Democrat for President. I have made that clear repeatedly, but if it makes you feel good about yourself to call me a liar, so be it.

Here’s a little history that likely got forgotten due to your addiction to online p*rn: Hitler came to power largely with the support of IG Farben. Others like Henry Ford provided some money like JP Morgan did for Mussolini, but it was mostly Farben. Hitler and Mussolini were very much corporatists. Tesla has now played a similar role in elevating America’s Hitler, as JD calls him.

The only person on this site that wanted to burn loot and riot was you and that was to our Capitol. Moreover, the only reason you are caught up in Tesla it's because you are in a cult. You have never complained about boycotts in the past. You actually supported boycotts. Your whole stance here is merely due to you being in a cult.

Please at least attempt to understand the difference between a boycott and domestic terrorism that involves the destruction of private property, or do you honestly not comprehend the difference? If left wing weirdos were boycotting Tesla nobody would care, and they know that, which is why they're burning #### down instead. Which Republican boycott involved burning down and vandalizing private property?

Please understand the original post that started the thread. It's about the stock tanking. My post stands. I am opposed to burning and looting, unlike the original poster who supports attacks as he is did when it came to the US Capitol. This thread is about Tesla stock though. Moreover, very few people are out here burning Teslas. Maybe a couple dozen people or whatever out 350 million Americans.

The TSLA net asset value in the combined retirement system funds was 100 million or less on June 30, 2024 because it's not in their top 10 holdings, so that would be somewhere around 500,000 shares or fewer. The retirement system had more invested in Danish currency. But that's just a part (64%) of Minnesota's assets. The remainder of the 1.6 million shares, if that number is accurate, must be in other categories like the participant directed programs (403(b)).
