Very unimportant controversial question

Since my last food question about what people’s fav “weird” food combo is, I’ve been wondering about another food question….
What pretty common or popular food or drink do you think is disgusting or maybe certain brands of foods you don’t like.
My drink answer would have to be green tea (specifically hot green tea.).
As for my worst experience with a popular food might surprise you guys. It was a marshmallow dipped in chocolate fondue. Me and my family once went to Golden Corral (I think that was the restaurant we went too tho I could be wrong) and they had this chocolate fondue fountain. It looked delicious. It looked like something you would find in a five star restaurant. So me and my 2nd cousins went to grab some fondue and some marshmallows to go with it. I dipped the marshmallow in some fondue and put the whole thing in my mouth. Big mistake. It was the worst food I have tasted in my entire life. It was a wayyyy too sweet. It was disgusting. I don’t know if it was just my taste buds or if Golden Corral just has bad fondue but ever since then I have never had any more fondue of any kind. I still like marshmallows tho, just not dipped in fondue.

Reese’s peanut butter cups. Or any other chocolate and peanut butter combination. I like peanut butter and I like chocolate, but to me this is one of the worst flavor combinations I have ever tried.

Same here. I thought I was the only one. I can eat peanut butter off a spoon and enough chocolate to kill a cow. But the combination of the two is not for me.

first time I went to Golden Corral saw several kids at the chocolate fountain after picking their nose then grabbing something to put chocolate on and all of their hands were in the chocolate for quite some time then licking it off their hands and putting them back in again.
Turned around and left.

Golden Corrall is really bad i went there about 12 years ago twice.....logic would tell you paying a flat rate and having unlimited access to steak, something doesnt add up, either they are losing money or the steak is some kind of plastic fake meat steak, i found out which it is.
I really miss the old Western sizzler and Quincy's for buffet/semi buffet type places, those yeast rolls were good. nice salad bar, dessert and veggie/side bar and they cooked good steaks, get a handful of jelly/butter mints on the way out.
To answer your question about odd food/ drink combos one of my grandmothers put chedder cheese with apple pie, to me that was odd, vanilla ice cream yes cheese no, as for drink cucumber lime/ and cucumber lemonade is a drink i avoided for a long time because it didn't sound right to my ears, but you should try it, its less sweet but suprisingly refreshing as compared to traditional lemonade

I checked and Golden Corral has 499 restaurants spread out between 43 states and Puerto Rico. I’m shocked so many states and another country has this restaurant. I was expecting this restaurant chain to be only located in maybe 5 or 6 southern states but no. Apparently it’s popular enough to have it in almost all 50 states.
Have you heard of or ever been to Ryan’s? It was a restaurant that has since been mostly discontinued and have closed all its restaurants in South Caroline. I remember going there several times as a kid. It was a buffet style restaurant kinda like Golden Corral. They had good rolls.
Also cucumber lemonade doesn’t sound half bad. It actually sounds refreshing. Especially in June.

Speaking of Ryan's, have any of you ever been to Duff's Smorgasbord? The one I went to in Clinton, SC, the food was on a circular rotating buffet and you picked off what you wanted before it rotated past you. It was mass produced gluttony. This was around 1980 in Clinton, SC. If they's still open, they probably gone to a more traditional buffet.

I haven’t heard of that restaurant but that is prob because I wasn’t alive in the 80s. I looked it up and all but one of the Duff restaurant locations are closed now. The only one that is still running is in Kissimmee, Florida. Apparently, “Duff's Smorgasbord locations closed for a variety of reasons, including mismanagement, financial struggles, and changes in ownership, as well as factors like food safety issues and the overall decline of the buffets. While the initial growth and peak of Duff's were significant, later issues led to its decline and eventual closure of many locations.” Or that is the official ai reason. The rotating buffet does sound kinda cool.
When I was a kid me and my family liked to go to buffet style restaurants on Sundays after church. I haven’t heard of Duffs tho. Prob because almost all the duff restaurants closed down before I was born. I was born in 99 btw. The restaurant does sound like it would be fun to eat at.

I don’t like coffee. Maybe drank it twice in my life? The taste is awful to me. On the positive side, it saves me money. I would be hitting Starbucks all the time if I liked it.

Lol the only coffee I drink is just a French vanilla mix that you put hot water in with. It says it’s coffee mix but my mom says it’s not real coffee. What ever that means.
