VBS; Teats On A Boar Hog

Vacation Bible School is a babysitting service for parents who are too lazy to teach Bible to their kids because they themselves, don't prioritize Scripture and can't teach it.
Most of them are idolators who have no problem dedicating hours upon hours to hunting, fishing, sports, etc. Yet they have little to no time for the Lord & His words except an appearance at the local high place every Sunday where they sit thru a lecture by 1 hireling.
But the Nicolaitanes who run the institutional false church system love programs like VBS because it gives them the illusion that they are serving the Lord by teaching arts & crafts & dance routines. And meanwhile, all this does is give predators access to children.
And what has the fruit been from the decades of the church culture's carnival known as VBS? Rampant apostasy or at best, a bunch of young people who cannot tell you why they believe what they believe. Yet the false church system doubles down & continues doing the same old thing summer after summer. VBS is just another example of how the false church has turned church into a circus to satisfy the entertainment idolators sitting in their pews.

I grew up as one. Catholic now but all of his posts remind of a certain segment in my church who seemingly has no love of their faith or of their brother but sits back and uses scripture (and law) to point out the faults of everyone else rather than shepherding them to Christ.

You're talking about one congregation not the entire Baptist denomination.***

Athought I belong to a SO Baptist chuch I allow only God's Spirit and...

His Word to form and shape all that I believe. However, the only time God ever instructed me to serve and worship was in a Southern Baptist church. Any issues?
I don't examine the beliefs of others but when someone speaks 'truth,' I diligently search my understanding and God's Word and examine myself, not them.
Setting someone straight on doctrine is way above my pay-grade so I study to shew myself approved that I may rightly divide the Word of God to be able to answer to any who may ask.

You really don’t think your particular denomination has any influence on your beliefs?
All denominations have different beliefs and they (for the most part) read the same Bible.
The difference is who reads it, not what it says. That much is clear

Denominational teaching bends how you do theology. If you study scripture long enough, you will usually break free of the bend. I was reared Pentecostal. As I studied Scripture, I began to see the problems. I am now a Calvinistic Southern Baptist. I moved to totally different ends of the theological spectrum.

Again, your beliefs changed, the Bible’s text didn’t (well not in our lifetimes at least).
What you just described is exactly my point.

I was born again in my home in Rockwood, TN. My father joined the 1st Baptist church and that's where his funeral was held. So I'd been in that building once and it seemed natural for me to announce my being born again there
I listed to every word from our preacher, Robert Campbell, and my SS teacher and followed along with them with my KJB, Thompson Chain, bible. I learned to be a Baptist while growing in God's Spirit.
Some 4 or 5 years later I was sitting on my porch at Hixson rd, in Chatt, TN prayerfully waiting on the Sun to rise. Suddenly I realized, it doesn't matter if the Sun rises or not, I will trust in God.
God spoke to me: 'I am going to undo everything you've learned about being a Baptist and direct your understanding Myself.' Thereafter, I unlearned everything, I put my understanding on hold and became a ledger which had only one entry; Jesus and Him crucified.
The following days of God's personal instruction became weeks which became years. It's been 50 years now, half a century of weighing the words of preacher, SS teacher and all others against what God told me personally. God and me, me and God with me asking almost all the questions and Him furnishing the answers at times He chose.
The Baptist church has no bearing on who I am or what I believe. Like I said, every time God spoke to me with instructions to 'worship and serve here,' I was sitting in a Baptist congregation.
Learning the Baptist traditions was the reason I listen to God. Other than that, there's not much Baptist in me, no more than Catholic or any other protestant law and tradition.

but.. your beliefs just happen to align mostly with the Baptist church? And not Catholic or other protest traditions?
I'm not buying it.

The first Bible I ever bought for myself was a KJV Thompson Chain Refere. I loved it. A decade or so later I bought a Companion Bible in the KJV. I regard it more highly than the TCR now.

Please don’t tell my wife this. She signed our kids up for every VBS in the county. I’m loving having 3 hours off every night.

Well, 'vacation' is the first word.
Maybe, if it's done right, it's a wholesome place for kids to go in the Summer to combine fun with Christian principles.
When you start comparing churches that have Vacation Bible School with the Nicolaitons, it's probably time to stop committing idolatry with your phone.

Did yours, and is that the reason for your broad brush of condemnation for all those who hold VBS?
BTW, that's ridicule, not persecution. Learn to handle the language!

How is it possible that you know "most" parents who send their kids to VBS? Seems like that is a lot of people in a of different places.

All my experiences with a VBS attendee were positive but I see where you're coming from.
