Use this down time to change your life - Keto!

Mar 22, 2020, 9:33 AM

When this coronavirus crisis is over, will you be able to look back and be thankful for how you used this time to make a real difference in your life?

Would you like to think much more clearly?
Would you like to stop taking blood pressure and diabetes medicines?
Would you like to reduce inflamation and pain?

Get on the Ketogenic diet!

The Keto diet removes 2 of the 3 risk factors that cause coronavirus complications - high blood pressure and diabetes.
Your mind will become much sharper, and you'll think much more clearly.
You'll lose weight, and you'll feel much better.

I've been on Keto for 2 years, and it's now a way of life, not just a diet.
I'm never hungry on this diet. I've lost 60 pounds, and I'm healthier than I've been in many years
You can find out everything that you need to get started here:

The bottom line is that you closely track what you eat until you get the hang of it. You have to eat less than 20 grams of carbohydrates a day, a moderate amount of protein based on your weight, and the rest of your daily calories are fat.

Doing this will change your life for the better! You'll lower your blood pressure, stabilize your blood sugar, and lose weight by eating food that you buy at the grocery store, without taking any meds or drugs. But you do have to stick with the diet every day. This is not a diet where you can cheat on the weekends. But when you make it a lifestyle, it's a wonderful way to live.

I hope this will help some of you like it's helped me and my family.

Go Tigers!

Started 9 months ago. Lost 30 lbs got off insulin and blood pressure pills and blood work is good for first time in years. Had to learn how to eat out because everyone puts out so many high carb meals. If you are diabetic ask your doctor about it. The American Diabetes Association added to their recommended diet list last year.

Your reply in a previous post prompted me to write this.

Yes, have to learn how to eat out, but other than Asian food, you can eat Keto when eating out.

Keto is another diet that offers temporary weight loss that very few people can sustain long term. Like other temporary diets, 99% of people who try it gain all the weight back within a couple of years.

It's awesome you've lost 60 lbs and maintained for 2 years! Not many people can say that. I've lost a bit of weight myself and appreciate how much easier life is. I also lift weights which has given me an additional bounce in my step.

Bottom line though: Keto works long term for very few people but congrats on your success.

The main thing that helps me stick with Keto is knowing that if I cheat with one meal and drop out of ketosis, I am three weeks behind. Since it takes 3-4 weeks to get into deep ketosis, the price that you pay for a momentary cheat is too high. Really helps you stay on the straight and narrow, especially with all of the positive results that you keep seeing and feeling.

Any diet requires some sacrifice most are calorie reducing plans. Keto is also calorie reduction but with high fat content you are never hungry. I eat two meals a day , consuming everything in an eight hour window. This fasting keeps me in Ketosis I was in pretty bad shape years ago I had removed all fat from my diet and ten years later I started getting sick was misdiagnosed and did not know I was diabetic. Several years of unchecked diabetes caused me to lose my sight. After numerous surgeries and treatments I regained most of it but was still sick and felt like crap and taking blood pressure, cholesterol pills and 2-3 shots of insulin a day. Then I got me a new doctor he suggested adding some fat to diet. I did and felt better but not great. Went on keto and lost weight and got off all meds. Blood work is great. Its not about weight loss for me but health, that makes it easy to stick to. I have since found a book by Dr Ken D Berry called “ The lies my doctor told me “ After reading it I know I will never stop eating this way. There are tons of recipes available now. Try it you will love it. If you work out you get super pumped.
