Team is 9 - 0 coming into the game with the Tigs. Took 3 from Toledo (1 - 8) three from CoC (3 - 7) and three from Radford (4 - 6 , lost their only game with VT 22-2). CoC won the middle game from Bama 1-0 out of a 3 game set in Charles Town. First six in the USCU batting order have a combined average of .356 with a team total 2 HRs.

We are CLEMSON, we are better than Upstate in EVERYTHING !
They are like a tech school compared to CLEMSON

Play the simple game. Moving guys over . Get on get em over get em in. Throw strikes make the routine plays. We are capable of that. Let’s get this train rolling. Wonder when hall and hack will be back. I still like carter in Sunday spot. Remember he just got back from surgery. Askew will be back this weekend. And wonder why no bo?

Remember that many of the kids on mid major teams had looks from Power 5 conf teams and can play at that level. Baseball is an interesting game where teams can step up and compete when some do not think they can. From a Clemson Alum and a dad who had a son that was a Big South All Conference player, confidence is everything in baseball. Mike Mcguire has the Spartans believing they not only can compete but also win at a high level. This game is early but Upstate will compete as we have seen for 2 innings.

That’s BS , if they were good enough to play in the power 5 thats where they would be. There could be a player or 2 that doesn’t have the grades , maybe .
I wouldn’t consider USC upstate a mid major either.
They are barely above schools like Lander and FMU.

I am totally disillusioned with Lee. Being young is not an excuse for this score. DP notwithstanding. Our once proud baseball program is gone. SC has turned its program around. Too bad about Clemson.

Let’s see how the next 3 weeks go for them then see where they are.
This Clemson team is bad right now and took them to extra innings and to the bottom of the 9th at their place. I listened to those games and there ain’t much difference between those teams. Bunch of Ks and a lot of questionable play from both sides. I sorta expect that from Clemson considering how young they are. I expected more from the coots considering the maturity in their lineup.

there middle guys are really good, potential MLB good. but our pitching was lights out in those games. That is about the only thing we got going for us. That being said, I think for the time being Grice should just stick to first base. maybe give Askew a chance at the midweek games when he comes back.

maybe our guys should learn to do the basics first, like making contact. then they can step it up and learn how to hit offspeed pitches, and then maybe, MAYBE they can start trying to hit homeruns.

No, no they don't. Swinging for the fences. Just a long fly out. Good if you're down a run or 2, not 6. Especially in the 7th inning.
None of them can handle a breaking ball or an offspeed pitch. Batting fundamentals. Go with what the pitcher gives you.
It's sad. Giving up 7 with young pitchers doesn't bother me. Scratching out only 2 runs... Unacceptable.

Can't hit with RISP. Can't hit at all. The last 2 half innings tell you everything you need to know. 1st and 3rd, no outs. No runs. Bases loaded without the benefit of a hit. Lee has to go.
