wrong on that but way more silver - it is way more suppressed and has so much industrial value - bible states it is a 15 to 1 ratio as well. Right now its 101 to 1

Silver will hit over $1,000 an ounce in the near future. When the shorts break the banks and they have to buy the silver to deliver it and it will skyrocket

Same thing with GME

it's both - industry left because they couldn't be competitive with unfair tariffs. Make it fair and it will return. In the same sense, many countries will have to drop their tariffs because they can't afford to lose US customers.

I didn't say accept the zero tariffs. I just stated a fact. IMO, charge tariffs until Nike moves to the U.S. and keep the tariffs on textiles to support American mills and workers. Where do you stand?

Bud, when everyone has a good factory job, and the costs of products coming from Murca are dirt cheap, I think you'll understand Liberation Day.

That’s one of the funniest ones I’ve seen. “When everyone has a factory job”… OOOK. Can’t wait for all these American companies to start building plants while our farmers try to figure out who to sell the massive excess crops to now that there’s increased reciprocal tariffs. But first, let’s get the unemployment rate up to 7%+ while those same companies layoff thousands this year.

There is no detailed plan, there is no supporting data for what he’s doing, which is why the markets are crashing and pretty much every economist and CEO is saying these tariffs are a recession accelerator. From an economy that was growing, stable/high value markets, low unemployment and inflation metrics that had come down to near 2%. But let’s not cloud the chaotic rhetoric with facts.

I guess this is our “welcome to the golden age” moment. 😂

Would it be impolite to introduce a concept called relativity in this thread?

Too bad, here goes.

Every country exports X goods, and imports Y goods. Poor, tiny countries may have a very small X and Y. The world's largest consumer nation, will have the biggest X and Y. And every country has a trade balance. Sometimes a surplus, sometimes a deficit. The world's biggest consumer nation, the US, will probably have a very big number. A small country will have a small number.

Now, forget the numbers.

Take the small number for any country (imports or exports), and divide that by the bigger number (again imports or exports). You will get a percentage. If Fantasyland imports 100 and exports 120, you will get 83%. This means Fantasyland EXPORTs 17% more than it imports. Got it? Good. Now, the other trick, subtract the small number from the big number and you get the imbalance value. In the 100 and 120 example for Fantasyland, the trade imbalance (surplus in this case) is 20. Now, say the GDP of Fantasyland is 1500, then the trade imbalance of 20 represents 20/1500= 1.3% of GDP. Everyone following here? Ok, here goes....yall probably know what to do.

I'm going to use 2023 numbers from the WTO (numbers are in millions), and I will run the calculations among several countries, for the sake of relativity.

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_net_goods_exports

US - imports=3172 exports=2019.......2019/3172= 64% (Trade DEFICIT is 36%)
3172-2019= $1,153,000,000,000. 2023 US GDP= $27.8T so 1.153T/27.8T = 4.1% GDP
So....if we balance our trade, we only add 4% to GDP.

UK - imports=791 exports=520.........520/791= 65% (trade DEFICIT is 35%)
791-520= $271,000,000,000. 2023 UK GDP= $3.4T so 271/3400 = 8% GDP
So if the UK balances its trade, it will add 8% to GDP

Feel free ton continue this math across the EU, Canada, and other industrialized countries, even China and Japan.

Now Donald Trump has declared a trade emergency in order to enact his tariffs.

Now, keep in mind Trump has declared deficits a "national emergency". The UK has a better argument to make that call than Trump does.

Here you go...
India - imports=672 exports=432..........432/672= 64% (trade DEFICIT is 36%, same as US)
672-432= $240,000,000,000 2023 India GDP= $3.6T so 240/3600 = 6.6% GDP

Both India and the UK have arguably a bigger reason to declare a trade emergency than the US. Because even with the same deficit percentages, the GDP numbers can not compare. Trade deficits hurt India TWICE AS MUCH AS THE US. And honestly, they don't hurt either country.

#relativity

So is India, and the UK, and worse relative to their purchasing power than us

I can do 50 other calculations and you still won't get it.

That 4% is in American dollars, and was leveraged worldwide to produce a much larger percentage of GDP.

$1T of goods from Vietnam benefits us MORE than shipping $1T of US goods to Vietnam. Our $1T sent to Vietnam gets multiplied almost 100 times as much "goods" from Vietnam, as $1T from the US would produce here, sending it to Vietnam. And they would be broke anyway buying our goods. Most of their imports from the US are machines to make stuff to send back to the US with their cheaper labor and currency.

You really are in for a lesson.

Well no #### sherlock. Every country and every product will be different. American auto industry will boom. American farmers will benefit as most countries can not produce enough to feed their people.

We are blessed to have all the resources we need plus. We will become a net energy exporter. Energy drives all products.
