Underrated change in DJ’s play

Oct 4, 2022, 11:51 AM

I’ve noticed DJ throwing with much better touch the last two games. Jake’s TD catch is a great example, but there are many the last two games. Last year is seemed every ball was a rifle shot, this year it seems he only shows off that arm when it is needed.

Maybe a lot of that is due to better protection, which leads to throwing from a more relaxed platform and WR’s now have more time to get open. Either way, it’s a very noticeable change.

DJ has improved from a fundamental and mechanical stand point significantly...I think the biggest improvement though is the play of the OL with the exception of Putnam..Miller has gotten better week to week as has Mcfadden and Parks....Give this man a little time to roll through his progressions and hes money...His pocket awareness has gotten much better too. Look at the film from last season to now and see how much more patient he is in the pocket to let the plays develop...large in part to that OL...

He seems more comfortable for sure and his play has really turned around.

His touch passes and putting air under the ball has greatly improved. Not to mention that he started running / moving around a lot better. That much improved O Line is a big help as well

Really have to wonder how much of this has to do with the knee injury he had last year. That could have affected almost all the things that are mentioned here - stability, movement, confidence.

The one bad throw to an open Collins that would have been a BIG play was the only major miscue I saw all night.
Dabo was right again!!!

Agreed and I love him in the pocket feeling it and going through his progressions.
