for quite a while.
UNC women's lacrosse players were caught wearing metal spikes in today's rainy game. After a UNC player juked a Clemson player (in which the Clemson player slipped) to score a goal, moments later, the game was stopped and referees made the entire UNC team change all of their cleats as metal spikes are illegal.
Additionally, after another goal, a UNC player's lacrosse stick tested illegal and the goal was removed.
Quite the day for a showcase of integrity for the UNC women's lacrosse program.
Update: one Clemson player involved (a former UNC player). She was wearing metal spikes as well.

Is it customary in lacrosse that ‘cheaters’ can simply address the problem? I’m surprised they didn’t have to forfeit.
Was the goal waived off?

Officials should've erased all UNCheats goals to that point. Two significant violations with no penality I assume.

In Lacrosse Carolina is elite. When you consider they were 22-0 last year and won the National Championship you should agree.

Rarely does the uniforms or equipment determine the winner of a game. I watched some of this contest and UNC was considerably better than Clemson.

Minutes; I wonder how much the illegal cleats had to do with that lead. Why didn’t the officials see this before the game started? As a kid playing club soccer metal spikes were also illegal; we had to line up before every match and let the refs inspect our cleats, seems like that wouldn’t be too much of a burden for NCAA officials.

Yes, it was all of UNC. But, at least two of the players on Clemson also had illegal spikes. If this was a bigger deal, I'm sure the acting head coach for Clemson would have had a lot more to say about it.
