They still need to get rid of about 12 more players given the recruits they are bringing in and the people they are importing through the portal. Players who have very little upward mobility in their system and aren’t going to contribute to the two deep, are going to be Encouraged to leave. And eventually some players are going to be forced to leave just due to sheer numbers with the 85 scholarship limit.

According to a tagalong article with the above tweet, George now has 18 scholarship players, who have entered the portal this year.
“After one season at Georgia, freshman cornerback Daniel Harris has decided a fresh start may be needed, as he plans to enter the transfer portal. Harris played in five games during the 2023 season, the wins over UT Martin, Ball State, UAB, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, but did not record any statistics. He becomes the 17th scholarship player from Georgia to enter the transfer portal this offseason and the third defensive back, joining AJ Harris and Nyland Green. Green committed to Purdue on Monday.”

So Harris played in 5 games which means he burned a RS year with zero stats in 5gms. How do you play in 5gms with zero stats as a DB unless you only played 1-2 snaps each game. Harris was probably asked to transfer with zero stats.
I wonder what his NIL take was? Maybe bagman said he wasnt paying more in 2024?
