Transfer Portal - The reason we are

Taking a nose dive this year! Dabos decision to not bring in players from the portal the past couple years when every other school does, is the #1 reason we are sitting at 2-2 this season. Imagine if an NFL team only relied on the draft to fill out their roster each year and didn’t sign free agents, that’s essentially what we are doing! Every team in college football is getting players they need from the portal. #### Bama, Georgia and OSU sign huge Top 5 recruiting classes every year and still go get 2+ IMPACT players from the transfer portal each year. Look at this article of the Top 150 players from the 2021 portal you can easily see just about every Top 25 team is going to the portal to help improve their roster. If we could have added the following in the off season we would be a significantly better team.
-Starting Center
-Starting Left Tackle
-Starting Slot Receiver

And probably a few others.. depth at CB and QB.

This is what every other team in the country is doing except us. Dabo was late to change and it’s costing this team the opportunity to play up to their potential. We have a TON of talent on the roster but IMO we have a few glaring holes, The Oline and a true Slot Receiver. Gonna be a long year but I hope we see Clemson’s name with several Top 50 2022 Transfer Portal kids coming next year to help this team get back to playing Championship caliber football!

I took a look at the Top 150 ranked Transfer portal players,

and I saw exactly ONE OL who POSSIBLY could turn out to be better than what we recruited. That was the freshman ALL-SEC guy who transferred from Tennessee. And, knowing the state of that program, I would be hesitant to take him.

If a wanna be team signs an average of 22 players a year and they are all 4 or 5 stars the numbers just don't work. First, people are paid to proclaim how many stars a kid gets and many times they are wrong. Second, if the star designations are correct, there are hundreds across the country that will not see the field. Dabo needs to shallow some pride and look for some of players who can help us especially when we have injuries or lose players who want to play and are not playing for us.
