How far should the USA be willing to go for Israel?

Apparently the top brass at the Pentagon has been gaming this scenario out for quite some time. American assets are currently involved, as well as our people, defending Israel from Iranian and Houthi missiles.
The IDF is probably counting on Iran attempting to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, which would draw us more deeply into the conflict to protect the flow of oil. One way or the other, Israel needs the USA to win this war, which means many American bases and vessels are obvious prime targets.
Who knows how long this conflict could go on. It could be weeks, months or years.

I wish these idiots would figure out that our misadventures lead to generations of terrorism. Opposing USSR in Afghanistan led to the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Gulf War galvanized Al Qaeda against us and led to 9/11. Bush Iraq war led to ISIS. The Israeli War Minister is in that camp that believes fully in Eretz Israel, which mean taking over all of Jordan with much of Lebanon and Syria before ethnically cleansing each region. Bibi is just out for himself, but he has the far right in his coalition to maintain power.

I was educated by an Iranian TA maybe 40 years ago. He told me (correctly) that Persia had given Jews nearly full rights long before other countries. And they never made them wear the star of David or grow long curls to distinguish themselves like Europe did (starting in the 1200s, I think, but long after the Jews had mixed enough with the locals that they didn't look Semitic anymore).

I tried to educate one of the board morons a couple days ago about this. There is a zero chance that Iran doesn't already have at least a working fission bomb and a very slim chance they don't have a working fusion bomb. It's not a big secret how to build one (see USA vs The Progressive; that is the case that established the single exception to prohibitions on the prior restraint of the press: restricted data). The advances since then are mainly reducing the size of warheads, but the physics are commonly known. If Trump, Bibi, and the rest of their Satanic cabal push Iran too far into a corner, they will use whatever weapon they have.
To avoid this, I'm guessing Russia and China step in to help defend the skies while not directly attacking Israel.

I’ve worked in the industry, have seen detailed cutaways of every modern nuke bomb and warhead (since the B53), and understand how they work.
If u want to talk zero chances, there’s zero chance anyone has a nuclear weapon that is a threat if they have not had an extensive and hard-to-hide test program. Getting Abdullah to put two bricks of Uranium together and blow himself up with a critical mass event is one thing but delivering a weapon across a border and having it work with full yield is another.
The complexities on an H bomb are 100x that of a fission weapon. Controlling triggers down to nanoseconds is required.
Iran would probably have better luck and spend less money to try and steal someone else’s functional weapon.

Not with Persia. One Persian was a Messiah in Jewish tradition. The Jews that remained in the middle east lived in peace with their neighbors for many, many years. The conflict you know today really started in the 1920s and took off when the British finally had enough of Irgun terrorism and departed in 1948. The subsequent ethnic cleansing triggered the first Arab-Israeli war, although your schoolteachers probably tell the story differently.
