I thought Grimes was a lock for Georgia but two CBs today to North Carolina show things are swinging. I suppose Georgia must have a 6****** in the wings or decided they didn't need or want him. (I hope you will detect a little sarcasm here.)

Actually they say he and Dre Bly have a good relationship. They are from the same hometown also. Heels are making a big effort to restore recruiting lines in the tidewater area.

with UF, Tenn and UNC showing up big in recruiting, and UGA unable to land players in their own backyard, it just does not look good for them.

NC is better than SC talent wise but Mack knows you've got to be able to recruit nationally, or at least throughout the Southeast, to field a competitive program.

He knows that he has to lock down his state first and with good performance (record/bowls) he will be able to branch out. Not exactly the same as Dabo, but the typical formula. Master following the student.

Yes, locking down NC is a focus for Mack. It’s been told he had assistants out around the state talking to high school coaches the day he was hired. We knew he would do it but shocked that he did it this fast. This is why we smiled when we brought back “that old man”.

Yeah I think Mack had the Heels in the top 5 or at least top 10. Do we expect to have the success Clemson has had? No I highly doubt it. But I really think UNC will be a top 10 team in a couple years.
