To beat Texas we have to be able to

RUN the football on sustained drives. A hurt Phil Mafah is not going to cut it. Hopefully the coaches are working up a misdirection run game, and if we have to play inexperienced backs with more speed then so be it. But hopefully the new wrinkle is Sammy Brown in the backfield on some series. He can certainly play both ways if need be. No one will criticize the coaching staff for trying something creative to win. But relying only on Mafah is a mistake, a recipe for disaster, and will be extremely questionable.

I watched the TX Arky game and what I saw in Arky was a team...

which had to run the ball because their receivers dropped so many passes. Had Arky had our receivers they would have smashed TX. We have a better WB than either of those teams.
Cade is better in the pocket than the starter on either team and better on the fly than Manning.
We will beat TX then stomp a greasy spot out of Azitaint.

No need to put being an RB to his plate in the biggest game he's ever played in.

Sammy Brown is a winner. IMO he can handle any situation you put him in.

I think we need to run a constant spread offense and run off of that while taking shots down the field, we were able to neutralize SC front for the most part doing that. Key is being able to hit those quick slants and execute the plays when they are there for the taking. Can't have anymore of those (If he just hit Wesco on that open slant or open go route...etc).

They have the number one pass defense in the country. Going to need the run to set up the pass.

I would like to see Randall in the backfield some and at other times running a jet sweep.

No problem with that either. He deserves a few more opportunities after the SMU game. His strength is running the ball after a catch or however we can get it to him.

SC had probably the best DE pass rush duo in the country and we neutralized it by running a spread and getting the ball out quick like I said, sure you can run....but its best to spread them out while doing it. We got sacked 1 time by SC and that was because Cade thought there was an offsides. We'll run the ball just cause, but I doubt it'll be much more than 2-3 yard gains.

We aren't converting anyone to RB. Sammy Brown or anyone else. If Mafah isn't healthy, they're going to need to work a lot of quick passes, screens, pop passes, end arounds, etc. into the offense (all the screen haters are going to be fuming mad.) If that doesn't work it's going to be a long night.

Putting Sammy Brown at RB requires no conversion. He was a great running back in high school. None of the plays you suggest will work if the run has not been established. Clemson is about as predictable as you can get with straight handoffs up the middle. It’s time to change that up and give teams something else to think about. I would even go so far as running Cade on some option plays. He to has to run the football for us to win.

Brown isn't a RB. He hasn't been involved in any of the offensive meetings, knows none of the terminology. They've probably never seen him pass block or run a route out of the backfield. You're asking him to play a completely different position. How is there no conversion?

They don't need to convert anyone. It's going to be Mafah, Adams, and EZE. They may throw some wrinkles in there with jet sweeps. But it'll be those 3 guys

The OL pass blocking will be the key. Texas only beat one team rated in the top 50 passing and that was Arkansas (#21) and lost both to UGA (#12) rated in the top 50. The other Div 1 teams they beat had team passing rankings as follows:
#84 - Colorado State #92 - Texas A&M #95 - Florida #107 - Vandy #115 - Kentucky #122 - Oklahoma #130 - Michigan
The Tigers ranked #17 in passing are the highest ranked passing team Texas has faced except for UGA. Let the pass setup the run.

Our best defender will not run tbe ball. Maybe in goal line, but if he turns an ankle of gets a shoulder injury game over on defense. It will have to be one of the younger RB's. I say Adams. Built solid and can take a hit. We need someone to run between the tackles for 3 or 4 yds. Lean on them up the gut along with tbe quick paced passing game . Cade must throw it 40 to 50 for us to have any shot. Shortening tbe game with runs will only prevent us from getting blown out, but we will not win. Let Cade rock and fire. It's our best chance. Still might lose, but at least we could win??

He tweeted last week. Sounds like he'll get some touches.
I would be awesome if he pulled an ETN on the first play like Travis's first ACCCG.
An embarrassment of riches..

them honest even if it's at 2 to 3 yards a clip for our passing attack to have a chance; if we're lucky well hit on couple big plays(through the air). Still can't fathom how nobody in the RB room besides Mafah and to a lesser degree, Haynes is comfortable with their assignments and ability to make reads during live action-
