Tornado warnings in Moncks Corner, Georgetown, and up in NC near Holden Beach and Shallotte. Some roads in Charleston are already flooded and closed, and there is a report of a possible ### breach in Walterboro.

Charleston has gotten about 12 inches in the last 24 hours, Edisto Beach 14", Summerville about 8", Moncks Corner about 6". The rain in the Lowcountry has been steady, but not necessarily a downpour. I suspect that will change significantly later today as major bands move through.

He lives in Mt. Pleasant, and no matter how severe the storm, he will always just shelter in place.

My sister on Johns Island is the same way. She went through Hugo in her house so I guess she figures it can withstand anything.

Snuck out to the beach for an hour this afternoon in Cherry Grove between downpours and it was packed. They have moved most of the lifeguard stands off the beach and built a large dune in front of the beach access near Snooky's.

My brother and sister live on Johns Island, where we grew up. My brother said there have been a few suspected tornadoes mostly over night last night. He mentioned West Ashley and Edisto. He said the one that hit West Ashley may have come up the Stono river as a waterspout. They had 8-10 inches of rain as of 7 AM today. Sounds like things may have let up a little this afternoon but I’m thinking there is more to come. We are heading down there Friday. Our other, older sister passed away July 24 and we are having her memorial service Saturday. I’m not expecting any problems getting there from here (Easley) but her kids are coming in from coastal Virginia Thursday or Friday so they might have a rough trip.

Just talked to my brother and sister on Johns Island. They got less rain yesterday and last night than they did Monday night. Don’t really have any standing water in their yards which is surprising. My sister said her rain gauge is only showing 2.4 inches. I have some friends that live in the Barnwell/Allendale area that said they got much more - 8-10 inches. I don’t think they are done yet, but it doesn’t sound like they are expecting the additional 8-10 inches that had previously been forecast.

I'm on the coast.
Lots of WET.
Far from the worst I've seen down here.
