between Dabo and Kirby - Nattie (2 vs 2) s, conference championships (9 vs 3), overall wins (180 vs 105), overall top 25 (39 vs 31).
The intangibles: Kirby came to a program that was recruiting in the top-10, has more money to spend than most, while Dabo came to a program that he had to build.
I think if Dabo was at UGA, he would have a better resume than Kirby, and if Kirby was at Clemson, he would have a worse resume than Dabo.

I'm OK with the ranking. You're never going to make everyone happy and based on what has happened lately, 3rd is great. I do believe what you think about Kirby and Dabo is the teams were switched.

And we're not likely to have Clemson voted to be 1st in anything by anyone outside of Clemson!!!

I think you are overstating the recruiting angle just a bit. In the 4 years prior to Kirby, UGA's classes averaged about 9th in the country, which yes that's in the top 10. But by comparison, Clemson's 4 classes before Dabo averaged about 13th - not that big a difference (especially considering 120 or so teams). But more than that, all of Clemson's (Bowden's) classes were either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in conference, where UGA's were 3rd, 4th, 6th & 7th. Dabo was MUCH better positioned to win the conference from a recruiting standpoint. Also, Clemson's record the 4 years prior to Dabo was a combined 31-18, which was 27th nationally (and better than Miami, gt, FSU, UVa, etc). So it's not like he was resurrecting some moribund program like Rice or SMU or somebody. Yes, UGA was a little better prior to Kirby, but again the difference wasn't that big (about 1.5 games per year better).
Kirby hasn't lost a home game since 2019. ND was his 1st loss to a non-conf Top 10 team since 2018 (and that was without our starting QB), winning 8 straight prior. He's finished in the top 7 of the polls for 8 straight years. He's won 11 or more games in 7 straight years (non-covid), and has played in his Conference Championship Game in 7 straight non-covid years. He won 7 consecutive CFP/NY6 Bowl games. His total Bowl/CFP record is 9-3. He has never lost a Bowl Game by as many as 2 TDs.
Let's see who is more decorated after they are both retired - assuming similar tenures. Dabo will likely have more conference championships because, well, ACC. But I'd wager Kirby will have more of pretty much everything else: total wins, higher Win Pct, Bowl wins, National Championships, CFP wins, Top 10 wins, Top 10 rankings, etc - and of course the all-important head-to-head. Kirby has been HC for 9 years, so if you compare Dabo's 1st 9 years, Kirby has a BIG head start.

Kirby has done nothing more than spend money on recruits and purchased 2 championships.

How much do you think he spent on the 5' walk-on QB he won two national titles with?

Any ranking which does not include Fulmer Cup points as a metric is trash

What exactly has the new Alabama coach done to be in the Top 10 ? Serious question. Are they using his accomplishments at UDub or something ? I don't get that one at all. Sems like he's getting the Bama/SEC favoritism boost we all know doesn't exist.

So Day finally wins a championship with the most expensive team in college football history. Almost his entire staff bails on him because they didn't like working for him. Yeah great coach.

A strong case couldnbe made to have Dabo at #1, but I get it. I think you can make a strong case for Kirby as well. Day @2...maybe. but anyone that puts Dabp below 3 is an absolute idiot.
They want to talk about "recent history". How about your WORST record in the last 14 years being a 9 win season. His career winning % is among the top 20 ever. He took a perennial 8 win program, the epitome of mediocrity, and turned it into monster. A program that had not won a conference title in 20 years, he made conference champs 9 times in 13 years (2011- 2024). He built this program from the ground up. Kirby nor Ryan Day can make that claim. He did it when you had to sell your program to recruits not sell your soul TO recruits. (That was a good one, i just came up with) He never bought a championship, the same cannot be said for the others.
Dabo at 3...not in my opinion but I'll concede. Below #3 and you really should have your head examined because there is a serious barrier in your brain, preventing logical thought.
