I am so PROUD of Valerie! She is representing Clemson like none other. We always talk about being a “Clemson Man”, but Valerie Cagle is THE Clemson Woman! To me, the thing that is the coolest, is that she came here to be part of the Tiger’s first softball team, not an established championship team. Her talents would have been welcomed anywhere, and she came to Clemson where she is in the process of laying the foundation of something very special. She has the chance to set records that may never be broken. She not only has the potential to be the GOAT of Clemson Tiger Softball, but be in the discussion of the GOAT for all Tiger sports. Way to go, Valerie.
Congratulations Coach Rittman, Valerie, and ALL the Tiger softball team members on a fantastic season.
Do it again next year!

Congratulations on Valerie Cagle being named the Player of the Year. Well deserved. Here you are completing your 4th year of Div I softball and you already have a POY. That is like the Heisman in football. When she played against OU in the Supers I was so impressed by her hitting. I don't think we got to see the real Valerie Cagle as a pitcher in the Supers. I think she was worn out by the time Supers got here. But boy that gal can hit. Hopefully you will have another good pitcher in your arsenal so that VC doesn't have to pitch as often or as much as she did. You have a rested VC in the playoffs and it can make a big difference. I won't be surprised if she isn't POY next year either. Good luck and maybe the two teams can get together again next year.

She was a RS Jr this past season, right? Now she’s a RS Sr. She started all 27 games in 2020, but it became a Covid year. Then 3 more seasons (21-23). She enrolled at Clemson in 2019 (I assume in Aug ‘19), so I’m confused about the redshirt status. Anyhow, 2024 would be her 5th season of play but is eligible because ‘20 was a Covid do over. What am I missing?

Wouldn’t she have two more years if she wanted she red shirted one year plus she get a Covid year I think. Pro softball doesn’t make that much per year so what else could she do? Love for that to happen but maybe only dreaming here. Go Tigers!!!
