Seems like a bad idea to have 2 media stars on the same team. Plus tebow hasn't seemed to be a fan of Trevor at times in the past.

This just seems like some very twisted sense of spotlight stealing mixed in with a bromance with Urban Meyer.

getting press coverage, taking the pressure off his star rookie QB and RB. Pretty smart when you think of it in those terms.
And, regardless of how his pro career has been diced up, when given a chance, Tebow has always been a winner. Not saying he was even a good QB, but those intangibles drove his team all the way to a playoff game win in the last year he was given a chance.
He may not be a major contributor, but Urban, even though he loves him, is not going to sacrifice his own coaching career over Tim Tebow. He will be given a shot, that is all. Up to him to prove worthy in some way.

I have never been a Jags fan but I have never heard of any of their Tight Ends so who knows. Tebow is an athlete and certainly has a TE body.

is his contract contingent on making the team through training camp? That would make more sense. Otherwise i'd be kinda ticked if i'm on that team thinking we're turning into a circus to waste a spot on a guy who's never played the position before. It took Gronkowski 10 games to get back to playing shape and he's probably the greatest Tight End of all-time and 6-6 / 265. Just makes Urban look like a coach that isn't' too worried about winning but more interested in adding friends.

A) Tight end is one of the NFL's most complicated positions. It's notoriously difficult to pick up even for rookies who have played TE for years.
Tebow has taken 0 snaps at TE since enrolling at Florida.
B) Tebow will be 34 years old when the season starts in August. That makes him older than all but four active tight ends: Marcedes Lewis, Darren Fells, Jimmy Graham and Jared Cook.
C) He hasn't been in the league for nine years.
If I was a UDFA looking to compete for a TE spot, with years of experience at the position, I'd be PO'd. Terrific human being, awful football personnel move. I feel for the little guys looking for a shot that get stiffed by this kind of publicity stunt.
