It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with it. I hate how ridiculous the transfer portal and NIL has become but it isn't gonna just go away. Either use it or don't. And frankly we are the only one that's not a military academy that doesn't use it. So that makes us stupid and stubborn. I don't think we need to dive fully into it. But best believe we could have used it for an experienced defensive end to keep P.Woo at DT. Or maybe yank a safety or some experienced receivers. Roster management is just not good at this point. But I also don't think transfer portal is our #1 issue. Coaching still needs to be better, otherwise it's pointless.

It just seems that it is no longer about integrity and making a commitment and sticking to it. We are encouraging people to be fickle and self centered. The scholarship has no meaning anymore. Yeah Georgia bought 2 receivers. When I thought about that I didn't care that we lost that game. Winning is everything today. This is what Dabo has a problem with. Paying for a commitment to play at least 1 yr. lol gimme a #### break.

Your team got boat raced yesterday because your QB hasn't developed, your o-line is subpar, and you didn't run one receiver on to the field UGA had to be even remotely concerned about. Kirby picking up two receivers from the portal had nothing to do with it.

Hate the phrase but it’s applicable: the genie is out of the bottle. I don’t think anyone “likes” what has happened to college football except the players who are now getting paid serious money. NIL is one thing but jumping from school to school to school is another. This is free agency on steroids and is the biggest sore spot college football faces. The NCAA has made billions off the backs of young college players over the years so seeing good players getting a share doesn’t bother me as much as school hopping bc face it, they’re no longer “All In”. Many questions swirl around this situation but the two that come to mind for me are 1. Will Coach Swinney ever adapt and start utilizing the portal effectively? And 2. If so, in light of the tens of millions that we have spent on the Oculus, West EZ, and TigerWalk among others, does Clemson even have the kind of money to attract substantive talent? For the record, I’m a 1987 grad with a daughter in the Honors College and I love Clemson but I do not love watching a once elite program descending into ignominious mediocrity. So Coach, where do we go from here? We are all looking at you. It’s not a question of CAN you change and adapt, it’s WILL you change and adapt? I for one hope so. Go Tigers!!!! Beat App State!

ICYMI they already killed the sport. It's impossible to win without paying the players like Sharpe is saying. He might be saying it in a celf centered ###### bag kinda way. That's just the person he is. You can't take credit away from what he's saying is true. In today's college football. Even though it is ruined. It doesn’t matter if you agree with the way things are or not… I’ll even admit I hate the way it is as well… but if you want to win… this is at you have to do and it’s not illegal.
A lot of you just don’t like it bc you’re older and set in your ways and hate change. Some of you are the exact type of people that say things like… “kids today are just awful”.
I understand that you grew up a certain way but times change and you have to change with them to adapt and survive otherwise you will die.
That’s exactly what we’re witnessing. The demise of what was once the top program in college football just 5 short years ago. It didn’t have to come to this but old man Dabo decided he was going to do it his way. His way doesn’t work anymore.
It’s going to get worse before it gets better so you better strap in bc we’re going to take some whooping this year and going forward.

with college football was the 4 years he played there at Savannah State in the SAIC.
He's never played nor coached on a nationally ranked college team, in a BCS game, National Championship game, playoff game, nor bowl game.
He's never recruited a single college player to anywhere. He's also never used the portal as a player or coach.
Compare that with Dabo and most every other coach.
Shannon Sharpe said what? And said it for clicks?

I listened to the whole clip. Sharpe was critical but “ripping Dabo” is a bit of a stretch. Comments on this board are much worse than anything he said. Ocho Cincho seemed to be pulling for Dabo to get back to the top.

I don't necessarily think the excessive transferring is good. I don't think too many people actually like that it's a part of college football right now. You gotta get with the times though refusing to change isn't going to help.

Offer the best portal quarterback available 700,000. Of OSU, Texas, Oregon, USC (real one), Texas A&M, many others want him, then they will put up a million. It is not sustainable for Clemson. Dabo is right on target for us.
