All seem fine except the last one, illegal touching most of the time isn't intentional. It should just be treated like an incomplete pass and loss of down, no need to lose 5 yards on top.

If there wasn't any penalty... quick-thinking QBs would just drill an OL in the back to avoid a sack or intentional grounding penalty.

What about a pass near the sideline in which the receiver inadvertently touches the sideline before catching the ball inbounds. That'll carry a 5 yard penalty now instead of just being ruled incomplete.

It's worded as an "originally ineligible receiver" so that would not be the case.

The feet first slide is signaling that the ball carrier is giving himself up. Defensive players have to pull up. Was it legal? At the time yes. He followed the letter of the rule but not the spirit. Good rule change.

Because the defender is backing down to avoid a penalty for hurting a defenseless player. It's affecting what the person is doing so they follow rules, and should not be legal to do because of that.

I 100% agree if you fake it and fall down then your A$$ is done for the rest of the drive. I’m sure that will make people run to the sidelines for a breather instead.

No conference would want to incur the legal risk (or fan ire) that could arise from taking action against fake-injuries.
The only reasonable solution, IMHO, is to make the player sit-out the series unless the team takes a time-out or unless the injury-incident is obvious (like somebody getting decked).

What about the debate they were supposed to have over whether or not Targetting is intentional? Penalizing guys for not intentionally trying to target a player is asinine.

Rules changes for targeting need to be made now...these are critical to college football in many ways...probably 2 natties for Clemson have been ruined by goofy calls of targeting by zebras...Nothing that an official does should be able to alter outcomes like that!
1. Targeting by definition should be flagrant, on purpose and without a chance of alteration by the movement or attitude of the person being tackled!
2. Once in motion to make a tackle any movement by the tacklee should be taken in consideration as in the Ohio State Game!
3. Several calls of Clemson players in the last few seasons have altered the landscape of college football and the playoffs when other schools were doing the same things in the same games!
4. Skalski, Turner and others were removed to get CCC out of the playoffs! When none of those players
are ruthless or trying to injure anyone!
5. Ohio State players were trying to hurt TL without a call!
6. Best example was years ago when UT played Alabama and once the play was stopped in the backfield the Alabama player piled into Colt McCoys shoulder and knocked him out of the game and out of the Natty! Ruined Texas chances and destroyed McCoys career!
7. The use of that rule can change the outcome of a College football game and by that alone makes it a possible source of 'gambling fraud' which is now in play in this era of no morals and no rules! Any player of any official can now line their pockets at the expense of college football and fans that love the game! I am no official but I have rarely seen a call for targeting in the modern era that could not be argued both ways...LSU defensive player on the Alabama WO was certainly right! Turner and Skalski are not trying to hurt anyone...Don't lead with the helment is just an excuse!
