Possible to flag those who weren't FR that stayed 4 or under

Jan 6, 2022, 2:58 PM

on games and hadn't previously RS. I know Capehart is one. He qualifies for a RS this year and will still have 4 years to play with the Covid year added back. Any others like that?

Capehart came into the season listed as a redshirt freshman. Bryan Bresee certainly is a major prospect and might not need it, but he did play in just four games this year.

Ok - I guess that is just a designation but why would you

RS a year that doesn’t count?. 2020 was his first year and it doesn’t count due to Covid. Or is it just they list like that and then at the end he gets a bonus year with the same designation? Either way, if last year doesn’t count and this year he only played in 4 then he should have 4 years left to play. I t seems with this Covid thing they should probably go to a system that shows # of years of eligibility remaining. I mean class doesn’t already match up when the guy graduates early and still has multiple years left.

I am glad to see Tyler Venables still on our roster. I think it will be good for him to establish himself apart from his father, and I think it is good for Clemson/OU. Venables and Swinney have been too close for too long to let snippy things emerge. They are both excellent men, and of course, both want to win. I was surprised to see Bates go, but not shocked. That speaks more about the relationship between him and his DC than about Clemson or Swinney. I would like to see OU get back to the CFB and lose to Clemson.
