As expected, the defense dominated the game. Not only do we have a great defense, but the OL is split up, so whatever chemistry has developed is put to naught. Did the game say anything about the QB? I do not think so. I think everyone expects DJ and Klubnik to split time when the season starts and then see who is the more effective as the year moves ahead.

If you didn't see a difference in the two QBs, you didn't see the game, or, you don't understand the QB position very well, or both.

Cade showed more accuracy, and he is quicker, and faster on his feet than DJ is in both instances!!!

Like has been said already, they both will get playing time at the start of the season. But IMO, if Cade can gain some muscle over the summer, and if he get a better handle/read of our offense by start of the season, he will do what DW4, and Trevor done as true freshman, he will take over the starting QB position. If that happens, the only time DJ will see the field, it will be in a blow out game, or if Cade gets injured. As a true freshman, Cade just fits what we do on offense better than DJ does, and throwing a FB 70 yards down field don't count for much unless you're giving the receivers a chance to catch the ball!!!!

Yes allinallorangeallthetime52®

It's still too early for Coach Swinney to turn this 2022 team over to a true freshman. It would make a statement about two years of little QB development.

But when Coach Swinney is ready to acknowledge which QB offers better mobility, better accuracy, better touch, better ability to audible & hit secondary targets, and better leadership skill sets, Clemson will be ready to chase the playoffs. It will happen, but only Coach Swinney can say when, and he'll get it right.

I find it kinda telling that there is not a box score in this article. As someone who only got to see the first half, I was wondering what the QB's final stats were. They listed the defensive sacks, Briningstool's stats, and Mafah's yards. Just surprised the QB stats weren't listed considering that is what most fans were looking for from Saturday's Spring game. I am sure they are somewhere on this site.
GO TIGERS!!!

It's a conspiracy I tell ya, they don't want us comparing the stats, like we didn't already know who done the best job at QB in the spring game. Neither were setting the field on fire, But IMO, Cade was the better QB in the first half, and that's when I changed the channel!!!

I don't remember the exact numbers, but DJ's completion % was less than 50% and Cade's was 65%.

In watching the replay when I got home, I saw Cade engaged with the coaches and players when the other team was driving. I didn't see DJ doing that. During the game, Cade drew the defensive players offside with his change of cadence.

As the game went on, Cade got better. DJ didn't until the last drive and hit about 5 passes to get us to about the 25-yard line, but his final pass was in the direction of the left corner of the end zone, but was out of bounds.

Quality play and consistency will determine the QB IMO. This spring game wasn't as telling as the Trevor/Kelly game, but there were relative similarities in the ability of each QB to move the ball down the field.
