I have been to football games and other sports for over 60 years and based on spot reading TigerNet, he is right. The world, NCAA, SEC and ACC are not aligned to destroy us and there is no sinister plot. We want to win games and so does every other school that fields teams. Adding to what I just said it was only two years ago when finebaum dared insinuate that Clemson was a racist program and that Dabo himself was the grand wizard of that racial issue? He has called him a sore loser and a sore winner. A whiner? A cry baby, and he implied that without BV and TE he was finished. There have been significant issues in college football that this weasel has barely said a word about all the while blathering on and on about Clemson. Finebaum is an angry little man and he has been trying to hurt this program for a long time.

...just 3 years ago after his attempted anti-Clemson/Dabo gaslighting didn't work in psyching out the team who convincingly won a National Championship, 44-16 against the supposed greatest team in the universe ever.
He can't let it go, he won't let it go...he's completely delusional and that my friends is proof we are living rent free in that little bald, big-eared head.

The poll was a 3-year poll by nature, though.
That got the ball rolling. Our immeasurable response TO that poll conversation on Wednesday is what prompted this response less than 24 hours later.
He's right, we do respond differently than other fanbases. We're louder, more en masse & more vitreolic than anyone, not just to Finebaum either (but especially in his case, clearly).
I don't know what to do about it. It's not on Finebaum---he has said atrocious & similar stuff about countless teams but we take ALL the bait, that's the difference. He throws more because we take more & it's so effective, why wouldn't he or Tigernet or Clemson radio keep doing it in spite of how much some of us old folks like Clemson's cultural response the way it used to be?

He has a point, and I HATE to admit it.
Take Paul Finebaum away forever and other people like Orlovsky & more just take his place in our trigger articles & responses.
I have to learn to let it go, & I'm still struggling when stuff like this happens. It's personal, I admit. But we used to be THE example of how to behave as a fan culture. We're not that anymore, & that's OK, I just don't love it.
Maybe it comes with the territory of unprecedented success? Still, I miss the way we were when stuff like this happens mostly because of how it affects so many Clemson fans I care about. I don't know what to do about it, either.

To answer your question, & sadly to his point, it's just what we do. It's Clemson now.
It doesn't seem to be unique to Finebaum, either, but he is certainly the most effective & Tigernet is at least just as effective at making sure to get as much bait out of it as possible. They throw us the triggers, but WE take the bait, every time, & en masse.
We've changed, & I'm struggling to accept it more than dislike it, but when stuff like this happens it just frustrates me because there's nothing I can do but just watch the deluge of negativity happen.
