I’m so glad they now have Movie Night...
I’ll tell you what: Bring in the revenue like football does, then you too deserve all of that. This all has to do with our current society’s attitude that “Everyone deserves a trophy”...

Glad our men's track program is saved and have no problem with adding another women's sport at Clemson. But some of this sounds to me like the football operations are about to be invaded by certain sports that produce zero revenue. Sort of like equal pay for women's sports that do not generate even a small fraction of the revenues and attention that men's sports do. Is the Football Complex about to become the All Sports Complex? Oh boy. ??

Re: TNET: Clemson settlement details with men's track, female athletes released

Apr 23, 2021, 3:56 PM

Yes it’s bull crap. The football team doesn’t need to share anything.. look up simple math on revenue generated. There is already a pool on campus for students, it’s in Fike. I would encourage whatever track and xcountry athletes to go there for their equitable pool.

And what do you think the students are going to say when the pools shut down for the sports teams that need to use them. You talk about how much money is generated by football. Do you even buy tickets to go to the games or do you sit on the couch and run your mouth? I love the football team, but i also ran track for Clemson and I know how hard it is when they expect you to be world class just to keep a book scholarship and they provide you with the least amount as possible. And then to say that you can't work to earn extra money because you have that scholarship. Track and field existed way before football and gets more attention than you know around the world. Everybody knows what it means when you say track and field. You say football to some and they think soccer. I would rather stand at the top of an Olympic podium knowing that I an one of the best because of what my training did for me instead of being a "Superbowl Champion" only because you was the practice squad punching bag. And when you disrespect track and field, you disrespect football greats like CJ Spiller, James Trapp, Jacoby Ford, or a Renaldo Nehemiah that ran track and played football. Especially knowing that running track helped develop their speed. So, with all that being said, know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

Re: TNET: Clemson settlement details with men's track, female athletes released

Apr 24, 2021, 7:13 AM [ in reply to Re: TNET: Clemson settlement details with men's track, female athletes released ]

I played football and ran track and Ronaldo Nehemiah was one of my favorite athletes as a child growing up. But let’s be totally honest, he decided to play football not because he was a great football player, because he was not, but because in America football players are famous when even some of the all-time great track athletes are not and he wanted the money being thrown his way! Money he would never make in track no matter how great he was!

Historically, on a global scale, Olympic athletes and Olympic sports have been very popular. But in America it has always been about team sports and today in most of the world it is about soccer and in China it is about basketball and basketball is rapidly approaching soccer in Europe.

And you can protest and cry and whine and scream all you want but soccer and individual and Olympic sports will never be bigger then football and baseball and basketball in America. And it’s doubtful if any of those will even surpass hockey.

From an amateur perspective, people in America love soccer. We love children playing soccer, although the push to get children to play soccer is based on a lot of propaganda, because in many ways soccer is much more dangerous for little children than football. Just ask any orthopedist. And we love high school and college and World Cup soccer, but Americans do not care about professional soccer.

The reality is all professional sports are taking a huge hit in popularity and ratings because no one wants to see them preaching to the average American when they’re getting paid millions of dollars to play a sport. These guys are total idiots! LeBron James is beyond stupid! LeBron James is one of the biggest hypocrites on the planet. All of these woke basketball players and coaches are and people are sick of it!

Football pays for itself without a hand out to mooch off of what another sport makes. Those sports that can't pay for themselves, the head coaches should come from the likes of a Walmart blue light special!!!! Now I'm sure that pisssed somebody off, I hope so anyway!!!!

And before someone asks - I am a member of the Block C club. However I no longer buy football tickets because on fixed income they have priced me out. Also my wife and i can't really walk to stadium from East Pendelton anymore.

Football has over 100 athletes, you can't keep 1 womens sport and be equal you have to keep multiple sports so you get to the same number of athletes. The size of football is the creator of all the equitability issues in the first place. Also why the heck would we cut soccer and golf which are 2 of our most competitive sports?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The size of the fball team and the $$$ generated is what

Apr 23, 2021, 4:57 PM

causes the equitability issues. Both the number of athletes and the amount of money would be much different without football. Not being mean, just stating the gist of it.

No sir. I am consistent. When I see someone lying, as the AD did, then I am going to do all I can to make sure they are held accountable. Sometimes, as you might expect, that's just not possible. But here, fortunately it was. I do have to wonder though, did you really follow the FACTS in this case? The racial disparity in this action is not debatable. What's also not debatable is that the issue of race has been just 1 issue at the center of this whole movement.

In the last 3 months, it has been the obvious title 9 issues (against Men in participation oppty's and against Women in Equal treatment) that have been the center of the debate as it were. Now that the facts of Title 9 are available for public consumption, do you still support the AD's decision as announced in November?

All these folks applauding this obviously clearly struggle to comprehend a ledger sheet. This isn't High school or Rec league, it's a multi-billion dollar industry, and if it is in the red year in, year out, then it doesn't make sense to continue pouring money into a losing effort. Sorry if I offend, but it's pretty simple, red is bad, black is good.

The ACC is the top women’s lacrosse conference in the country. We should be a part of that and will have success. Top notch lacrosse coaches will want to coach at Clemson. Clemson would easily attract top players. Games could be played at Riggs Field. Students and Fans will love watching the fastest game on two feet.

Title IX is over done stick a fork in it!

Apr 24, 2021, 6:56 AM

Title IX is destroyed and meaningless and proves just how callous and manipulative, how morally bankrupt, how brazen and corrupt Democrats and the left and the mainstream media ALL are if they don’t reverse course and continue this anti-scientific anti-female push for transgendered athletic participation!

It is insane and sad that otherwise intelligent and educated people are rabidly pushing this agenda that is going to destroy female athletics all in the name of political power, because it #### sure is not based on science or common sense and destroys decades of progress for girls and women in sports!

The Democrats do not care about minorities or women Or anyone else for that matter. This proves what people on the right have always known, that the left don’t care about people, that identity politics have always been about pitting people against each other, about fear mongering, about lies and propaganda, about winning and power at all costs! That’s what this transgender nonsense is all about.

Smart people, people with common sense, people that are objective and have their eyes open, have known this for decades. But now it is without a doubt and even the most jaded and brainwashed people should be opening their eyes and seeing the truth. Because now it’s not just all the blatant lies and conspiracies and propaganda, but the wokism, critical race theory, DC statehood, transgender nonsense, court packing, the filibuster, illegally changing voting laws, open borders and amnesty for 10s of millions of illegal immigrants, and on and on and on!

Wake up people! The Democrats do not care about you! The mainstream media does not care about you! They never have! This is about power! This is a hatred for America and a hatred of democracy and a hatred of capitalism and a hatred of western and Judeo Christian values and a hatred of freedom and individualism!

This is insanity!

It #### sure is not science or common sense. It’s #### sure not about making America better or about unity or love or tolerance.

It’s about power and control!

Re: TNET: Clemson settlement details with men's track, female athletes released

Apr 24, 2021, 11:38 AM

Here’s the issue. No one wants to watch women play sports. And when I say no one , I’m not talking about their parents or friends. You can’t people who will get int their car, drive 30 or 40 minutes from their home, and watch a female carry a stick with a ball in it. Or run in circles. It’s just boring. And for those who get mad, your not mad because I’m wrong, your mad because I’m right.

I have no issue with them being allowed to use the intramural fields, however it shouldn’t take away from the important sports
