Congratulations to President and First Lady Clements on the contract extension. Also congratulations to both of you for your honorary alumni rings! I have had the opportunity to meet with both Jim and Beth over the years at various Clemson Alumni Association sponsored events. I just want to echo how blessed and lucky we are to have the Clements residing in the President's Mansion for at least five more years. Two extremely compassionate and incredible people with so much class!
It strikes me as both so ironic and so completely out of whack that one of the best university presidents in the country is only compensated a million dollars a year. What a bargain - especially compared with the completely insane, irrational, illogical and unreasonable salaries that we pay to football coaches.
I understand the economics and marketing stuff of college football salaries and the need to retain good coaches. But don't you think that the esteemed leader of a major university that has accomplished so much should be paid at least as much as an offensive coordinator?
President Clements' accomplishments are unparalleled and something that we should all be proud of! Congratulations again and thank you for all you do for our school. Very proud to be a Clemson Tiger!

Clemson is lucky to someone the caliber of President Clements. It is great that we have a President that supports athletics and is so widely respected.

The same man who is masking our children and bullying them into getting vaccinated when there is a 99.9% survival rate. Deplorable! He does not represent Clemson or our constitutional liberties. I am so disappointed in my alma mater!!! How do alumni speak out against this travesty and replace him with a president who stands for our traditions and truly cares about our children? I would gladly see him get an appointment with one of those other universities seeking his guidance. I wish more parents and alumni would join me in replacing him with a more reasonable and diplomatic president. Clements can go back to W.V. or MD. He doesn't belong here!!!
