Texas suddenly becoming a stopping place for Tiger recruiters. Wonder why?

Hope this OL likes his visit. Can’t have too many great hogs on a team.

He’d be a great one to land….

Realistically he’s a Michigan legacy and I’d be shocked if that’s not his choice….

The legacy factor is important, but not primary.

With Michigan, Khaki Pants has been exhibiting some signs of a wandering eye. NFL bright lights may be alluring again to him.

With Clemson, Dabo is the ideal fit as a college FB coach. He’s perfect as far as the politics of the University and IPTAY / boosters. He’s perfect as far as the college mission I.e., the development of young men in a wholistic sense. These ‘political’ and philosophical attributes of Dabo are not needed for a NFL coach.

Khaki Pants is 59 years old.

Dabo is 53 years old.

(***). Clemson is in a very competitive position. I doubt that, as of this time, we are much behind MI for this TX lineman. If we are fortunate enough to win the ACC again and also beat N.Dame, then we will be even more attractive to him.

It seems to me that the interest in Clemson from Texas high school football players picked up after we played there beating Notre Dame in the 2018 Cotton Bowl. Not sure if there is a connection but it sure couldn't have hurt.

So MANY recruits in Texas. We've been making inroads there for years.
We seem to be doing better there each year.

I sure hope he picks Clemson!
Love to see high quality Texas young men heading to Clemson!
We need to reload our Offensive Linemen with some studs!
Come to Clemson and play for Championships….

Go Tigers!

Re: TNET: Clemson needs to develop NFL linemen

When Clemson starts to develop more NFL caliber OL talent, they'll start to have more success recruiting.

I think the talent that has arrived within the last 4-5 years has certainly improved. Getting a player or two that get drafted in the first round may open more doors.

Are there more than 2 guys starting in the NFL right now?

I think Clemson will take this down to the wire, but I would not be surprised if we lose out Michigan. Not only is he a legacy, but after Jadyn Davis’ commitment to Michigan, he hinted at joining him. There’s a group of 4 recruits that keep hinting at playing together and two have already committed to Michigan in recent weeks. Hope we land him, but this may be a similar situation to the guy from Greenville High

You could be right, and I haven’t heard about the 4 pact of playing together. But, I have heard that in the past and that has worked out that way very few times. Your chances are better because they aren’t on the same teams, from my experiences.
Good luck. I think Michigan leads big, but followed by Texas and then Clemson.

Someone already said Clemson doesn’t develop NFL OL and hopefully high school OL do read that. If this lad were a DL, I would give Clemson the edge even over Michigan

Ok, the board Texan emerges from the deep.

You’re right, he is a Michigan legacy and all sites have him penciled in there. Beyond that, y’all are wrong on so many things.

Bowden recruited Texas. Don’t argue that, because you’re wrong. Even schools as far away as Pennsylvania and Washington heavily recruit Texas.

I believe Clemson is a possibility, because of evidence such as this picture. But, here’s where even guys that follow the national scene are wrong, we don’t know this kids heart.

He’s also been to nearby Texas many times for obvious reasons and because of proximity they may be second.

My opinion? He’s on the smaller side for todays OL. That’s not a worry, I personally gained 50 pounds my very first year out of high school but I was also just 17. I did that on my own as a walk-on at small school. He won’t have a problem gaining weight

I saw him play a couple of times with one good and one bad outcome. Obviously, it’s a team game but he more than held his own. I watched title game with another person and he didn’t see what I saw
Quick feet and Texas’ new OL coach Flood is actively recruiting him. I have never met coach Flood and they can’t talk publicly about recruits even if I did, but for some reason he didn’t chase the two Texans y’all signed from last year.
To me, that’s about tastes and difference in styles. Flood loves huge OL and Sewel and Ian didn’t seem to meet those standards. But, neither does this kid.
What I look for as a nerd and what he looks for as an actual coach are irrelevant

I’m guessing Clemson is a distant third, but again on that I am just guessing. All I know for sure is that Michigan leads big.

One other thing, Texas players do tend to be a tad overrated. I say that only because hs football is so huge here and it’s not most states. My son in laws brother is a South Carolina football coach and it’s just not emphasized there nearly as much.
They probably now have 25 coaches at these larger 6A schools now and while they aren’t supposed to recruit like they do in California at Mater Dei, it still does go on a little
It’s not legal.
These kids are already prima Dona status in high school. That never happened in my small town years ago and luckily I sucked in high school but it’s a thing at Westlake and other schools
