Because if it’s during the football game, nobody will go. And nobody would watch on TV, either. This gives people the chance to do both.

Better than the crowd that would have shown up at the same time as a football game. The crowd is gonna be lousy either way anyway as some of the fans who would go are probably going to be in Orlando. But at least fans at home can watch both.

It’s better than 7pm DURING A FOOTBALL GAME. You keep omitting that key detail. There will be more people at the 2pm game than would have been at the 7pm game during football. Sorry this bothers you so much.
Also, most students won’t be there either way. It’s winter break.

Not really. Clemson is a football school and if the game was at the same time as the bowl game it would have been disastrous. Moving it up was the only good move here.

So glad it was moved up from 7 to 2...will hopefully get to watch it while I tailgate in the parking lot that I will be parking in at Camping World Stadium...sure will make time fly by a little faster getting to watch the Basketball team play before heading into the and hour before kickoff
