It used to be we could take a seventh ranked class and they would play like a number 2 class because they were coached well. Did we lose that ability?

You do realize the classes are mixed during the game, right?

It never ceases to amaze me how clueless people posting on here are about football and sports in general.
The comment you commented to went completely over your head. We are clearly not developing players as well as we were just a few years ago. We’re not bringing in kids that are getting significantly better. We were winning national championships with recruiting classes barely in the top 10 against teams that every year have a top three recruiting class. We have not been developing players like we were. It is obvious. And the experts and others talk about it.

What it is sometimes is getting generational talent. ETN was so good he masked holes that were in the offense. His ability to run and catch out of the backfield helped Lawrence and the WR because teams focused on him. Same when you had Wilkins, Dex, Cle, Bryant….you probably won’t have that type of D Line again in the near future. Plus Clemson’s 2016-2020 teams had guys who stayed around 4th-5th years and were late bloomers.
Look at Dorian ODaniel, Simmons, K’Von, Powell, Jadar Johnson, Tankersly, Cervenka…I could keep going but most of those guys popped in their RS-JR or RS-SR years…something that will not happen when they transfer after their Soph year.

We just didn’t have a quarterback. Now that’s Cade’s the man I fully expect next season to look like Clemson 2015-2020 again. I don’t think people realized how much having a capable QB really impacted all aspects of the program.

Shocker, they're all still the same player. I'm convinced these people that run these things pick and choose based on the schools if they can help, they are fans and have their teams just like we do. The fact that many commits to the same school fell that many spots is pretty unreal
