$2,500,000 slot value, no shot he doesn’t sign. Not unexpected but still sucks we miss out on another top guy.

I guess you have to accept these commitments but it looks like we could do a little better scrutinizing the top recruits that actually want to go to college.
Monte was the worst. Seems he'd have 3 or 4 a year sign MLB. Said it before and will say again, how do the other teams get these top players actually stick and play college.

do yall think we are the only people that do this. when he committed he may have been way down the board. you always recruit the best and usually you keep the vast majority.

Maybe, but when every year top guys get drafted (that aren’t injured or super committed to college), it gets stale when we are amongst the lowest of major schools in terms of top 100 recruiting.

This is how baseball recruiting goes. There's no way around it. Got to recruit the best guys you can get and some will inevitably be drafted. Every team deals with it.

I agree, especially if they fall out of the 1st rd. You have to start doing whatever it takes to keep the top guys if we're ever going to make it back to Omaha. In the last 3 years we've lost top guys in Head, Harmon, Kilby, and Wideman. That's alot of offense

Tho it is hard when we lose top guys to big market teams like New York and LA like we have been too.

Tennessee had 3 commits get drafted in like the first 15 picks. Kilby was a late riser who wasn’t viewed as a draft risk until his senior year really.

Congrats young man. This is another example of why baseball recruiting is so hard.

This is why I don’t care that much about college baseball. Basketball, too, for that matter. The pros steal the best prospects
