Saying..Clemson Univ and it’s ability to educate a young student for a fine career in life precedes what a football coach or coaches promise or bring to the table.

Let FSU, Colorado, USC, and others continue to troll the portal for what they can drag up.
These students, along with their parents are making a lifelong decision, and know Dabo has their best interest at heart for making them successful on and off the football field!

Football players commitments reflect the commitments in families. How do you expect an 18 year old to turn down the money for something more valuable when he has seen his parents do the same type of thing in his family?

Money can't buy loyalty but it can buy a switcharoo...FSU can buy em and steal em...but them someone else can get them to switch easily...ours come to stay and we have to kick some of them out...don't be surprised in the future if CCC has coaches named Renfrow & Wilkins!

The Swinney message would certainly resound with the parents, and also with recruits as they are in a relatively pure state regarding loyalty to the school they will choose. I doubt any or many players enter any program visualizing no more than 1-2 years and then into the portal. Those thoughts begin to creep in if they are not getting playing time, or they are displeased with the coaching or teammates, or perhaps if the school is seriously underperforming athletically. The bottom line for me is that the Swinney message is an excellent one in a time of collegiate chaos, but in today's crazy environment the challenge in retaining recruits awaits Swinney and staff, as it does in every other university. That's not an easy task in today's Wild West environment. So far, so good.

I taught at the college level for 40 years, and that included teaching both adults and kids right out of high school. Knowing the attention spans of both of these groups, which is about an hour for the adults and 10-15 minutes for the younger students, I would love to know Dabo's secret for keeping the attention of a group of high juniors for 2 hours. Not only did he do that, but he has sold at least 3 of them on coming to Clemson. I have always been a Dabo admirer, but this just adds to my respect and admiration for him. I'll assure you that there are few coaches out there who can hold the attention of a group of any age for 2 hours. I'm glad we have one who can. Go Dabo and Go Tigers.
