Yes it does, but let's hope that 2 and 3 don't just stand there and watch it like they usually do unless a D man runs over them trying to get to our QB!!!

much has changed except for the terminology and there is a lot of things that were good that we want to hold on to makes me think he is interfering with the offense still. He needs to let Riley do his job and trash the old playbook. Stay the heck out of Riley's way Dabo!!!

Well he is a very successful HC that has been around FB for a very long time, and what he says goes, and I don't have a problem with that. It would be easier for the COACH to be retrained on what he calls things, than it would be to retrain 30 plus guys on the offense, and the guys holding up the signs on the sidelines, wouldn't it? Plus I'm sure that Dabo told Garrett during their talks that he was with certain things a hands on HC, and Garrett took the job with that understanding I'm thinking... I mean if it was never talked about, I'm sure that Garrett had heard it, or was told prior to him accepting the job....

Why? Because if you got remarried to a new person you are all of a sudden going to start wearing different pants because she says so? Sorry you are so worried. Good luck

Agree, Dabo has to get out of the way and let Riley cook…

Change whatever he needs to change without interference. Obviously whatever Dabo wants to “hold on to” hasn’t been working in the past couple of seasons.

We only care that we score with reckless abandon

Sound the Air raid sirens and then run Shipley & Mafah Wild until the defense edges up, then attack down field with reckless abandon!
As long as we’re up by 50 at halftime on Duke.
Our defense has to give us 3 and outs.
We’ll feel sorry for them and play everyone in the second half running the ball.

Oh yes, if Garrett is as successful with his offense as he's been at his other schools that he was allowed to run that offense, especially against our usual ACC opponents, our RBs will get their chance to show off their ability in the second half of most games we'll play. Most of our ACC opponents has proven year after year that FB isn't their top shelf sport, it's basketball, and with a few exceptions it's been with Basketball/Baseball. I think that has a lot to do with how hard it is to recruit elite talent against the SEC!!!
I do believe that if the ACC schools would put great effort into having great FB for at least 6 to 8 years straight of working really hard at it, and make it understood throughout the country that they're going with FB as one of their top sports, before they reached that 8 years to have an elite FB, that would put the SEC in check with recruiting most of the best elite FB talent, and it would make college FB as a whole a lot more competitive throughout college FB.
I think that with college FB being the sport that generates the most money for the schools when they have a competitive FB team. College Presidents and Athletic Directors especially in the ACC should have their biggest discussion right now about what competitive sport brings in the most money in a 12 game regular season, all of them would have to agree that Clemson has been the money $$$$COW in the ACC with FB, and that it would be a lot more profitable for all of them to become as completive in FB as the SEC has been over the past twenty years BC, that is why the SEC does so well when it comes to negotiating TV contracts. And now the Big 10 has brought in more FB power programs, just look at the TV deal they will be getting. If the ACC don't react very fast at raising their hands as moving to be a FB power also, it "WILL DIE" and dry up bc the SEC and the Big 10 will be getting paid monster Cash for competitive FB!!!
T-Netters, do you agree, and if you disagree, WHY??? I can tell you that the ACC will never make this kind of cash ( Link below ) as a Basketball conference!!!

There are no surprises in football, what matters is execution. Spring is for learning and this one is important for our offense.

Our scheme prior to Garrett hasn't been that bad to us as long as we had a top QB, a cple of top 10 receivers, and a pretty decent RB. I say this bc we have been to 4 national championship games, 6 playoff games with our scheme and without a great O line. So there should be some things in that scheme worth saving. But we should never forget that the level of college FB changes all the time, and what worked last year may not be what works this year. There will be other up and coming OC's behind Garrett that will have a scheme of their own that will work bc it's different, and schools will have a hard time defending at first. Some of those schemes will last a long time bc they're not gimmick, just solid FB sense that works well when a lot of hard work is put into making it click.

Sounds like a ready made excuse if the offense struggles- "everyone learning a new system, new terminology takes time".......

It’s more than terminology

It’s coaching, playing and performing. TCU’s Offense operated at a high level in 2021-22. Clemson’s did not. Enthusiastically looking for Garrett Riley to bring needed changes to Clemson Offense.

That and there is a qb that is a better fit for the offense running the show. It’s no coincidence that our 2 “down” years had the same qb and 2 different OCs.
