Why isn't he the starter? I know that everyone will be asking that question. He played the better game today out of the three QBs that lined up.

Don't take too much out of this game. Yes wished CL2 looked better and made better decisions but still only the Spring game. It's meant more for the fans than anything else. But it's good to know we jave a capable QB in Trent Pearman should the need arise.

I wouldn't say that it's made for the fans, it's made for the coaches to get a look at the new guys to see how they look in a game like situation, and IMO that is exactly what the spring game is for with all coaches, testing the new talent that's coming in. Otherwise they wouldn't know what to expect from them in the fall....

I gave you a +1 for your post, but I do recognize that today was just 1 practice, and 1 practice, a season doesn’t make. It might be the answer, but maybe more. I just hope that Dabo and his staff have not already made up their minds and are so dogmatic that they won’t pull the trigger on a roster adjustment as they did with not putting Trevor in earlier and by not making the needed switch away from DJ before both really cost us. Just do what’s right for the team and the program. Do that, and I think us fans will be very happy. JMO

They managed Trevor perfectly. We went undefeated that season. How did not putting Trevor in earlier “really cost us”?

The article reads to me that Dabo is willing to risk using a QB with more innate physical talent (CK2) instead of the QB who has more innate mental / situational awareness ability (Pearman) in hopes of winning really big … but possibly losing 3 to 5 games by giving the roll of the dice to CK2.
If Ck2 loses two games before mid season, then the ripcord gets pulled and the Pearman / Vizzina experiment begins.
Of course, this is nothing more than a fan’s guess.

Agreed. I'm not ready to call it yet for Cade, but Vizzina is absolutely terrible.

He has been pretty good in other times he's had a chance, and they've known all along what they've had in Pearman...

Pearman was far and away the most focused and best performing QB on the field today. Nice work Trent!

Klubnick is a bust-not sure about the others-time for the OC to attract some serious QB talent!

Who was the little QB who led UGA to 2 Natties?

His first couple of years, they tried larger 5 stars to replace him. He turned out to be a better QB than them. Pearman can be like him!

Stetson Bennett was THE MAN even though much smaller than the ones who tried to beat him out. Trent Pearman can be 'THE ONE'!

Stetson left and came back...and Wasn't Dominant until he was a SR

His first stint at UGA he walked on and transferred after Fields committed.
Second stint, dude didn't show much early. Stetson had 10 Passing TDs and 7 INTs heading into his SR year so not like he was balling out early and just got overlooked.

Heck, take a look at the spring game Stetson had the year he took over (2021). Dude wasn't even considered for QB2 at the time.

Of course, the best player should play whether it's the better football IQ or if you've got FR DW4 or TL16 talent waiting in the wings. However, folks pointing at Pearman as the second coming of Stetson need to pump the breaks. UGA realistically didn't know what they had in Stetson until it happened before their eyes.

The quarterback play may be more a reflection of our defense than of our offense. How many defenses will any of these guys play against that are as good as ours? That QB’s know the defensive is well & good but it’s the plays made by individuals that makes a defense (or offense) what it is. Individual players still have to execute
