All three (CBV, CTE, and DRad) are probably thinking this might be their best/last chance to move up on the college football totem pole, so no surprise. Still, quite a job for CDS to fill all these positions, and to do it rather quickly. Prayers for him (not joking), as he has to make some really important decisions here.

Dabo always has a plan and plenty of folks would love to

come to Clemson and coach. My worry factor has dropped to below zero on all this. We still have a lot of talent on the roster - much of it now experienced after this past year. Things may be a little less stable in our immediate future for the bowl game but I have no doubts that by kickoff in 2022 we will be as ready to play as we have been over the last 10 years.

Changes are definitely coming to Clemson but I also think these changes will ultimately be good for Clemson as it has the potential to reinvigorate our program away from a trend towards complacency. Clemson has been one of the most (if not the most) innovative programs over the last 10 years - this change gives us the opportunity to keep that innovation going.

I am quite sure that Dabo has been planning on this happening for a few years now. Certainly he has been bringing in coaches to groom into the next Brent Venables and Tony Elliot. I have every trust that this will be a smooth transition for our football team.
Go Tigers!!!

I'm just a little partial here , if Streeter gets O C , Kyle Richardson would be a great choice for QB coach ( has nothing to do with him being my son ????)

I'm absolutely positive that Dabo is nowhere close to giving up on,the best is yet to come!!! Just bc he was thrown a cure ball for strike doesn't mean he's headed to the dugout, that's not Dabo, he's not a quitter bc a pitcher threw one past him. He will think about the next pitch, and knock it out the park. In Dabo I trust!!!! Go Tigers....

I totally agree. Dabo always has a backup plan. That’s what makes him a great coach. Keeping all the players together is going to be the biggest obstacle he has. That will be a challenge but he’s the man for the job.

Move up on the college football totem pole ? Clemson University is at the top of that totem pole along with Alabama . I can see Coach Venables taking a premier Coaching spot but the others , with the exception of Tony Elliot , are at the top unless they get a job as a Head Coach at a good program .

I know Dabo will get it right. However, if TE gets the VA job, I do hope Dabo does not make Streeter the OC. I think we should look outside the program.

I agree , Brandon needs to be an assistant OC first before we hand the offense over to him. Maybe , Chad Morris would return if Dabo wanted it or Tom Herman the former Texas HC . He could score points he just never got a defense going at Texas. All in all it's up to DABO because I TRUST in him to solve everything . ALL IN , GO TIGERS .

This season left me with an increased sense that the program was trending towards stale on offense. I had hoped Venables would stay and keep the defense stable while Dabo found answers to bring the offense back up to the lofty standard we’ve come to expect. That didn’t happen, but still this rebuild of the staff on both sides of the ball is an opportunity to build the next great run. It may be a bumpy ride. Maybe next year will be a transitional year we hoped we could avoid, however the challenge of change may be worth it.

Complacency is a program killer and we were becoming complacent. I want to see major changes on the offensive side of the ball. Hoping we can just keep building on all that BV did to and for the defense.

Dec 9, 2021, 9:38 AM

Clemson football from the ground up, by the bootstraps. Culture is king and he believes in his proven method in which the success is near to impossible to argue against. BV was a big loss, but that was only a matter of time, it was time to go for TE (go read posts all year), and DRAD didn't really matter to Clemson football (almost a non-factor that didn't hurt it, but really didn't help it).

I'm confident Dabo has this thing running like a machine by Spring Practice.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

DRAd is near retirement age. He’s going back

Dec 9, 2021, 10:00 AM

to a place he started and prob wants to retire there if he doesn’t get offered a conf commissioner position. The other 2 have the opportunity to advance their careers and need to seize the moment since CU is not in the playoff this year. Due to timing of when new coaches need to start, it’s become almost impossible to move during years you are involved in the playoffs therefore there was a pent up demand for our coaches

The best move he’s ever made was going outside the program to get BV. I hope he remembers that now. Clemson has the clout to bring in big names. They should use it. This isn’t a high school team where you get promoted if you hang around long enough. Look at what Saban’s been doing. It seems to be working pretty well for him. Also, open up the TP. We’ve got holes to fill from losing BV and the players that left with him.

On the plus side, we should open up a position on the defensive side now that we don’t need a pull back coach.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

while I trust Dabo, that's a lot for anyone to take on.....

Dec 9, 2021, 9:57 AM

.... and all the talk about moving people up and hiring from within bothers me a little bit, but it clearly has worked for us before, so again.... just have to trust in our coach.

To true Tiger fans:

Support Dabo through thick and thin. Alabama has survived coaches coming and going for years under Saban and I see no reason that Dabo won't do the same for Clemson football!! Say a prayer or more for Dabo in his quest to fill those coaching positions he has lost. Mark my word, he will get it done and soon!

I am a Rock Hill resident and I am familiar with Kyle Richardson. He was the offensive coordinator for long time coach Jimmy Wallace before he became the Head Coach at Northwestern High. He is an offensive whiz that was on display at one of the high school state championship games that I saw in person.

It hurts to lose those quality individuals who have been in Tiger town for years of great success, but at the same time I can't help but be happy for them. Change is definitely coming, but in some circles change can be good. Depends on what is done with that change. The more things change, the more things stay the same. And that means getting Clemson back to the mountain top. Go Tigers!

For a HC to go off and to return to a program that has been raided of its Coaches, it’s got to feel like a house when all the family leaves after the Christmas vacation. Empty and quiet. Though, for Dabo it it might be just the thing that jump starts that competitive energy haven really seen out of him this season. He seemed down this year, almost as if he looked into the future and knew before any of us that this was going to happen. Probably didn’t think it would unfold in this manner before bowl season. I would all but say Dabo on his plane ride back was already talking to his new OC, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t already have a DC in mind. Whether it’s Wes Goodwin, Todd Bates, Coach Reed, Lamaski Hall, I would keep a close eye on one those to be the DC moving forward. So, we could see a new OC from the outside, it’s a very good possibility, which means that DJ could be reevaluated by the new OC as to if he can be retrained or told he can be the backup or transfer. That’s up to the new OC, but whoever the OC is, DJ is going to be a rebuilding project from a mechanics ?? standpoint. Foot work, passing, reading defenses, stepping up in the pocket, extending plays with his feet, not being afraid to run when the pocket collapses, the next OC is going to have some work to do. I trust Dabo, he’s going to right the ship, recruiting will improve with new Coaches as well, it’s a new chapter in away for the Tigers, and this might be full of success and Championship’s! ALL IN!!! GO TIGERS!!! Let’s win out!!!

Looks like Dabo was on a Cruise ship for several years and skipped to a cigarette boat headed from Florida to The Bahamas...
