The O-line bothers me a bit at this juncture. It's early though.

I had asked about that earlier. I wondered how many played and did Carmen get in. We did have one bad punt but that was late. Would have to break down the film on the 4/12 3rd downs. Kinda misleading when you had so many players rotated in/out.

First game but the only negative I saw was the first couple series. Was hoping the line would pancake them on the 4th down. Kb needs to just be himself- feel like he’s pressing, maybe thinking too much or something and not just playing. Again, only a vanilla first game.

Get through the preseason 3-0 then we’ll know a lot more.

Ewe furgot coaching

Sep 2, 2018, 6:19 PM

The offense was vanilla as usual the last 5 years with no imagination and no trick plays. The staff stubbornly continues to start a QB who is now 13-2 over a cyborg who has hair like Fabio and the team knows is the guy. Why else would they call him Sunshine if he wasnt like Appolo? When Elliott tells the RB's to hit the hole they don't run as well. Why did Wilkins not get snaps at safety with our lack of depth There? The get back coach seemed off his game as well.

I know there's a lot of sarcasm in what you have here, but just in case someone doesn't see it that way.

Why would the coaches have anything other than vanilla? That's all it took to beat this opponent. You roll out trick plays when you fear a close game, and need an additional edge. Trick plays can go south in a hurry if not executed properly.

I would much rather this team (as they will) focus on the fundamentals, and establish themselves as a truly dominate team.

There's only one team in the country right now that can match us. Hopefully we see them in Part IV

Yeah not sure where that came from with striperfan. It’d be ridiculous to not have anything other than vanilla plan with Furman. That’s why I said you kinda take that 4/12 third down conversion stat as skewed. A couple of the early 3rds and 4ths weren’t good but as I said, look at more from fundamentals.

I would have given the defense a B+. Considering we were as vanilla as we were, what were people expecting? This is just line up and go. The defense gave up a touchdown. Both qbs had butterflies starting off and didn't impress early on. The wrs looked good.

offense B+
defense A-
Special teams A+ considering how we usually play, this was a great game special teams wise

The only aspect of the special teams that underwhelms is the punting. The rest were tremendous.

The punting game (not receiving) still seems to be less than
