Well, someone is lying and me thinks it’s Streeter

Uber conservative running plays the final 10 minutes of the game. Yet he says “we didn’t take our foot off the gas”? DJ was torching them through the air. We actually had WRs running free for most of the night. I actually said to my friend “I feel like we could score at will but we want to dink and dime down the field to rest our defense”. I also have a big problem with our prevent defense but feel like our offense is more capable of putting teams away if we want. Defense seems to be hot and cold and in some cases hanging on for dear life.

Streeter was right, there were mistakes made that stalled the offense, he just wasn't very clear on what mistakes that he was referring to, but if he had to be clear, the mistakes was his vanilla play calling. I do hope that if he is going to continue as the Tigers OC, he will learn to be honest bc, if he's not going to be honest, his vanilla offensive play calling will cost our players the game, and it came very close to costing them the game against FSU!!!! When a person is incapable of owning their own mistakes, they learn nothing from them, and they will continue making the very same mistakes again and again!!!!

We played (called plays) like we were trying to run out the clock the last 10 minutes of the game. FSU played like they wanted to score and win. It was a 20 point game that went to 6. I know a win is a win however, we were an onside kick away from losing. I have no doubt with 1:37 or whatever left FSU would have scored had they recovered at our 45 (they’d just went 90 yard in less than 1:30. Unsure why we couldn’t stop the run, and unsure why the offensive play calling went to just DJ and Shipley up the middle (minus the one lateral). It’s not the players calling plays and we were fortunate to have recovered the onside kick. I’m perplexed to have heard our coaches say afterwards we needed to finish yet the play calling was the issue and would not allow us.
Happy we won, a win is a win. Go Tigers !!!

I agree to a point. You do need to run the ball to run more time off the clock, but 3 and out repeatedly doesn't help much, and it certainly doesn't help keep the defense off the field.

1st possession in 4th was deep in FSU territory

after the goal line stand. We threw the ball TWICE and ended up with a 3 and out and having to punt as a result. That gave FSU good field position and they scored with 9 minutes left. We then ran a 10 play drive all runs until DJ got sack on a presumable pass play that caused us to have to punt.
Running was working. Passing was not. FSU has a very good pass defense.

Streeter is the problem. It is very simple, we got up by 20 pts and he took his foot off the gas. He started becoming very conservative, no hurry ups, no quick slants, just run up the middle, rum up the middle, run up the middle, you get it. He wanted to just run the clock out. Goodwin is still a young coordinator but sometimes he makes adjustments to late. He started playing soft coverage with 10 mins left in the game allowing Travis to pick the secondary apart. He got away from the pass rush that was working in the 3rd QTR. We could have scored at least 3 in the last minute but Dabo had the game won and he thinks thats enough. We will probably fall in the rankings. If you saw the ESPN Playoff projector last night, which is a joke, it had 3 SEC teams ahead of Clemson, also, Ohio St and Michigan were ahead of Clemson.

It may absolutely come from the Top but Streeter is the OC, so ultimately it falls on him.

Actually, no. The problem was after the goal line stand, they called two rather long passes, when that wasn't time they should have called a couple of those shorter routes to pick up a first down to just maintain possession. They actually got yoo aggressive there.

Credit to FSU for wanting to win the game instead of playing not to lose ,and this may be something that nobody wants to hear but both Georgia and OSU would have put this game way by the start of the 4th.We just do not have that "killer instinct" mentality, IMO and the better the to tiered teams would have a field day against us.

You might be right but the verdict is still out on OSU, because they have not played one team with a winning record and have only played one game away from home all year (Michigan St 3-4). GA struggled against Kent St and Mizzou, so they vulnerable. Alabam is not as good as usual. We do need to get the killer instinct an blow people out though.

I get being conservative with a big lead so you don’t blow it up. Really the biggest gaffe was throwing a deep ball from the 4 on our next to last drive. Which isn’t very conservative. We run the ball there and keep clock moving those 3 plays, there is no last score for the criminoles.

Hopefully when Streeter watches the film he will realize he rucked up. With polls and the way they position teams you better use the advantage to pour it on. Taking your foot off the gas almost beat us. Love win Disappointed I’m not putting it away. Go Tigers

At some point, just winning tight games against mediocre will teams will not get you into the BCS playoffs. Don't know if that time is this year but style points and margins of victory are going to factor in. The fourth quarter was not a good look.

Putting opponents away should be easier done than said. Stagnant play in the fourth period saw Clemson's lead over Florida State narrow. If Clemson is leading, add to the lead.
Putting opponents away is one of several problems noticed in the game against Florida State. Other problems included the defense's start and blind mice.
The defense did not start the game well. Tempo was off at the start. A confused defensive line was unable to stop Florida State's opening drive touchdown. Bresee was well rested and a notch down from his expected play. He has been through a lot in the past month with the passing of his sister and a kidney infection.
The blind mice lacked intelligence and vision on the field. A quantity of garbage penalties were called against Clemson for the sake of being called. If a player is Florida State, it is okay to get away with holding and pass interference. Were the referees on the Atlantic Coast Conference or Florida State's payroll?
A win is better than a loss. Clemson should prepare for a challenging game against Syracuse. Go Tigers!
