Other schools may offer more money initially but the decision to be a Clemson Tiger will pay dividends like no other. The end dollar will be the same, if not more, by choosing the Tigers, once the NFL career is over.

We lost our top OL recruit yesterday to freaking Texas Tech, of all schools. They paid millions up front for a guy that’s probably two years from starting. They paid a million for a softball pitcher last year and they still lost in the finals to us.
The Sand Aggies of Lubbock will stop at nothing to gain 3rd or 4th in the Big 12
So, this guy is probably not a Longhorn. Hopefully he chooses Clemson and not G A Y&M.

Ehhh, I view that as a different situation. An elite QB is almost an necessity to win a national championship. Where a high school offensive lineman is not. You dont know how that kid is going to develop. They see arch every day in practice, so if they think hes worth it then he probably is. If they didnt pay him someone else would.
As far as the softball pitcher goes, yes you have to have an elite pitcher to win it all, but paying 1 million for one player in a non revenue sport is just wild to me

@westernTigerFan your University of Texas in Austin is literally known as the most gay school in all the South if not America. A&M is a conservative school. Lol
Texas in Austin has been overpaying for recruits in softball and others girls sports for the last 3 years, and they’ve even been the only school paying for recruits in sports like rowing, swimming, canoeing, volleyball, golf, tennis, etc.. and overpaying in football consistently.

I'm struggling with how to react to the amount of panic & angst about him picking between us & Texas A&M this week. It really has brought out the pessimism (again) & ironically I suppose it likely hurts his recruitment (& our own perception) more than helps outright.
Can't wait until this is over tonight at 5 PM & hopefully with good news to flip our collective voices back to the other side of the bi-polar fight. Chin up; there's a reason Clemson is one of two programs he's likely choosing between. Go Tigers!

They are, absolutely.
Many of the most vocal have not been able to talk about it without worrying or making worst-case scenarios is all I meant, & it's not uncommon but worth discouraging a little sometimes is all.
