any word on Mafah, why he looks injured, and why no running backs get any relief work?

Yup - very good question! - they have beat basically the same level of teams we have (not making too big a deal out of our failure to show up against Louisville) and we've lost to 2 teams much better than anyone they have played. I have no idea what that means except we have seen equal or better teams than they are BUT we have to play better and more physical defense than we have if we want to have a chance to win, AND we better put them away early because we have not stopped anyone in the 4th quarter all year. Whether was was App State or UGA they all ran over us in the 4th! Probably too late to get in shape for this year but we can (I hope) show some toughness for a change.

His shoulder is banged up and maybe you didnt see the 2nd team guy getting

work before he got injured?

As it is EZ E will be toting the rock on plenty of carries on Saturday. Sure hope we’ve tried to bring in some physicality during practice, because we gotta have a running game to beat Texas. The air raid alone won’t get it done. If Texas has any holes, it’s in the running game. We MUST man up and depend on more than finesse.

hope our play calling is way better than last week but.....

None of this matters anyway, it is all coach speak and anecdotes from a coach that is a really good guy and B/S-er, basically he is doing his job.

I don't really know what to expect from this game as I think Clemson is playing down to their potential, and SMU is playing up to theirs in an extremely weak ACC. I could see this going any way possible from us getting blown out, to us blowing them out and everything in between. I used to could call these before they were played pretty well, but the Transfer Portal and NIL have made predicting these hard for me at least.

I am less concerned about the outcome of this game and our bowl game or games, then I am on what happens after the season is completed. What I hope for is meaningful changes post season that address our issues with coaching, roster management, recruiting/retaining players/NIL usage, and portal usage. I am just ready for this season to be done with and for Dabo to actually make changes that improve the program.

Well said. I'm ready to see if any changes are made with WG. Another assistant who was lucky enough to have DS as his head coach. Well, it's time to move on from WG and bring in a proven DC.

He lost me at “great venue”.

I hope we are practicing our tackling a lot this week

Dec 3, 2024, 3:05 PM

To my eyes, our tackling was overall, pitiful against The Chickens. Granted, the Chicken QB was a rather large, nimble fleet footed fellow but, he went through our lads like a knife through butta, even when our students athletes tried to stop his progress in concert and unison. We must learn to wrap and pull down, wrap and pull down.

why does everyone expect things to all of a sudden get fixed? same problems all year with each decent team we face. We still have the same old clueless coaching staff and Dabo continues to repeat the same rookie mistakes game after game with playing time decisions. Cade is still inconsistent against good teams, mafah is slower than molasses right now. HE is in the media telling all what a great year it was despite the fact that Beamer made a fool of him for the 2nd STRAIGHT time in death valley. Hard to not see the obvious fail but apparently our leader or leaders dont see it?

Mafah does look kinda beat up ...

That's why I always told my kids ... be a Pro Golfer ! Baseball ! Something where your Pro Career is longer than the average 3 years in Pro Football ? But alas, none are Pro Athletes

He's like the big kid in 5th grade who got held back a couple years and then basks in being the best basketball player. He doesn't seem to realize that the ACC is like a JV league and anytime we even think about playing the SEC, we lose

He was awfully giddy in the presser. Glad he can laugh it up after losing to the state rival with Shane and his other Gamecock friends. I'd laugh all the way to the bank too with millions, I guess. Dabo of all people should know losing to your instate rival is not good. He was part of the Alabama- Auburn rivalry. They aren't laughing in Auburn this week just the same in Tuscaloosa when Alabama loses to Auburn. Be a little disappointed and humble after a loss at least for the fans sake. Just saying.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What does most would expect Clemson to clinch a birth with a win mean? You didnt

Get the memo? It’s guaranteed.

Well thanks to Fran Brown and his Team exceeding expectations this year and of course a mention to Tyler.
Otherwise Dabo's spending a few sleepless nites seeing Shame Beamers big coot smile in his face!! I live in Va and really got sick of hearing about Beamer ball every time VT blocked a punt, ect. I thought I was done with the Beamers and then Shame shows up in SC.

So, here we are, Clemson's like the dog that finally got his teeth in the car tire he's been chasing. What you gonna do now??? After every loss this year they say they wanted that one back, now's your chance fellows, you've got those 3 losses back, lets see what you're gonna do differently. Coach's decided to stop throwing and went conservative in the 4th last week and got your butts kicked. You've got 4 guys that can run and catch the ball, a great TE and a good Jay Haynes running the ball, Id throw that ball all over the field all day long and run Jay. PM appears to be running hurt. Ok Dabo, lets get it done!!

Dabo is awfully happy for a guy that just got beat by the coots again this year! And get ready if we get beat by Texas he will hang his hat on winning the beaten down acc….hes been doing this act for the last 4-5 years.
