More a case of "no killer instinct".

Nikki with a Freudian slip. "Onside sick". It about made ME

sick that we were one lost onside kick, or fumble, away from nearly blowing a 20 point lead with less than five minutes to play in the game.

For Pete’s sake, proof read your articles. It’s embarrassing that this website has common grammar and spelling mistakes in almost every article.

Great to win in a tough environment but we just are not where we need to be mentally. They were so far above us in desire at the start while we had the deer in the headlights look on defense in particular, then we finally take command in the middle 8, and then effectively went to the bus early. This game should have been about 48 to 14 or 17 when we took control and made it 34 to 14.
That is a recipe to lose games against the upper group of teams if we get to play them.
This should have been a leave-no-doubt game but I expect we will drop behind Michigan (in the poll we were ahead of them) and Tennessee at least this week.
If we really are in the elite top group we need to show it and play a complete game. We show glimpses and then simply lose focus and look average at best - Let's show the killer instinct next week and show that we belong in the top tier!

I agree. We can’t continue to take off large sections of the game. No killer instinct. Prior to the start I said if we do t win big they will put us 6th in the poll.

UGA
OHST
TENN
ALA
MICH
Clemson

That’s how they will vote.

Don't get me wrong - I am not complaining about winning but what are our goals? I don't think we should be satisfied with in the end barely beating a team that lost to 2 other teams we beat. As they say "Don't let good get in the way of great." Two years ago they would not even play us and now they are telling a recruit they just stole from us "we were inside the 5 and could not score to win the game - all we need is you!" That could be truth but the impression of that young man could have been - "man if I want to win I need to be in orange! No one else is close." Is good OK or is our standard really best? Right now we are playing like Good is just fine.

The goal is to win every game you play. That’s it. There is no way we don’t make the playoffs if we’re undefeated on selection day. We’re consistently beating good football teams at home and on the road. Think about how many close games we had in the season with Watson’s national championship. Was that season a failure? They went on to a loud, tough place to play and they won.

Also the expression is exactly the other way around. “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.”which is to say good is good enough. A win is a win. Be happy with that. We’ve never had a better program in my lifetime than the one we have now. Enjoy it. I promise you it can be a lot worse.
